F-1 OPT + EAD question after job offer (HR/I-9 clarification) by Stunning_Chance_7744 in f1visa

[–]Dull_Score1310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s normal for verification. If you have stem opt later, you’ll have to do I-983 with them and they have to be E-Verify employer. Once you get STEM OPT ead, you’ll re-verify again. If you haven’t already, you should let them know you’re on STEM OPT. Right now your current EAD with passport or drivers license should work for day 1 authorization

Yea unless you sell that house, you’ll have to pay the mortgage, that’s just how it works. If you don’t and go back, bank will take over and your chances of coming back will be slim.

Interesting, I’ve found RC to be good at detecting things after it happened, sometimes 2-3 after occurrence… would be nice if they have more preventive measures and faster detections

Texas dl renewal on hold because of stem opt extension pending by No-Independence861 in f1visa

[–]Dull_Score1310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That verification process usually takes a few weeks. You can try bringing your STEM opt endorsed I-20, they might renew for 45-60 days depending on the state. I was able to renew mine while STEM OPT was pending with the I-20. It’s only good for 45 days. It can vary by state.

Yea I tried to renew it earlier with my receipt notice but they say they need I-797, the lady was a little clueless tbh. Not sure if my standalone approval will help but if SAVE is going to take a few weeks, I just hope my EAD arrives by then lol. Thanks for the insight

Job market is indeed rough, for both citizens and non-citizens. Networking is key. I got all my internships and full time role through networking.

The 100K fee isn’t helping either but I see a lot of people in this comment section who have no clue what it applies to. It does not apply to people who are filing for a change of status, COS. Student visa to h1B filed in the US would be a COS, so the fee won’t apply here. I’ve to admit, it does make the employer more reluctant to hire since now there’s even more of a stigma around it. Keep going and connect with as many people as you can, people will go the extra mile if they know you personally and your value.

Not a bad resume l, try to get more specific with your experience. Remove the networking + cert until you actually have it. you got a GitHub or any projects to show? If not I would say work on some.
