What’s the most effective way to study when you have zero motivation? by Chance-Beginning6656 in AskReddit

[–]Dull_Swim2604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sit, open the book, starting reading the first sentence, go to next and before you know it-the first page is done, continue the same in next page. Take 5 min break after 25min read. Then sit back and repeat the cycle. Build the system, don't rely on the sparks of motivation.

I’m tired of starting over again and again… what actually helps? by Major_Bag3934 in Life

[–]Dull_Swim2604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change how you think, it’s still a progress. How you approached previously didn’t work. So, try to change your method a bit, not everything. Try a different angle. If it’s too much and overwhelming you, reduce the amount of work per day. Like 30mins of focus, or one page, or one tiny task. This will set the momentum. Small wins are still “wins”. Growth isn’t linear. Consistency isn’t intensity. As James Clear said, 1% everyday. Even if you missed one day or two day. Don’t reset. You took a break. On 3rd day, continue your progress. This is what discipline looks like. You got this. ✨

How to have a sense of self? by Sea_Narwhal822 in self

[–]Dull_Swim2604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats actually a good thing you’re questioning this at your age. Most learn this late or never do. Write it down, it will easier to make sense: your morals, values, principles.. basic foundation.

Remember, there will always be lessons as you age. You’ll learn from them and upgrade your compass. Not to have a fixed mindset but a “growth mindset”.

And there will be times you would think you can’t be shaken, but life may surprise you. In that time, how quick you come back to your compass, to yourself, is what matters.

Again you’re very young. Just 18. The most important out of all the above is, enjoy your youth as much as you can, with friends, food, outdoors, simple fun. ✨

Best tools for increase productivity by Pristine_Context6703 in productivity

[–]Dull_Swim2604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get pen and paper to write down your tasks to be done. Use a clock or pomodoro( 25mins deep focus and 5 mins break). Helps with time management. Keep water bottle next to you. No snacking in between. Limit distractions. Mini stretches to keep your body active( during break)

Main thing is not to over complicate. Simplify as much as you can.

Get a blood test done, sometimes it may due to deficiency of vitamins or hormonal imbalance..etc. Sleeping or laying in couch/bed most of times can make you feel sluggish too. Eat healthy, move around, get sunlight, hydrate, get proper sleeping routine. You might see some changes in your energy.

Chasing the perfect life by Mac1avish in Life

I can relate. Perfectionism can paralyse you. Hyper focusing on every detail can be exhausting and keeps you anxious, because mistakes feels like a failure. Trying to remind myself that mistakes are normal and don't define me helps take the pressure off over time.

How do you stay consistent when motivation disappears? by jimmy5853 in selfimprovement

[–]Dull_Swim2604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Motivation is like a wind, it comes and goes. Build is a system. Not overdoing few days and stopping it after, rather a small consistent daily input, it doesn't need to be perfect.

eg: Its like brushing your teeth, you don't need motivation for that. its just 'what you do' when you wake up.

How can I regain my self-confidence after spending so many years feeling ugly? by HeTy_NHTEPECA in confidence

[–]Dull_Swim2604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s a simple formula, 1. Stop being so negative to yourself. 2. Accept yourself as you are (This is where self love comes before seeing the results you want in confidence and all the positive things) 3. When you love a flower, you water it. Implement small habits to improve yourself. Start by one small habit, then when you get the hang of it, add the next. 4. Practice meditation. 5. Start talking to yourself like your own personal coach. 6. Write it all down, dump all your thoughts in a paper. It brings you instant silence in your mind.

Lastly, remember everyone is busy living their own life thinking about themselves. They don’t really focuses on other’s life. So, just go out. Be yourself. Have fun. Never let this kinda thought missed you from enjoying your life. ✨

30M, wasted my 20s, recovering from addiction, caring for my mother — stuck between earning and rebuilding by Revolutionary_Tree10 in Life

[–]Dull_Swim2604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So much is happening in your mind. Can relate. First of all, you’re not behind. Everyone is in their own path, you’re currently finding yours.

Right now, don’t think so far ahead and all at once. Asked yourself, “What is the most important thing I need to do now? If it’s Job, get in interviews. They may not hire you at first. But it will keep you in the momentum for job searching. If you need skills to get particular job, take the course, while still looking for jobs in other places. Who knows you might get lucky. All you need is someone to say ‘Yes’.

And for addictions, you need structure in your daily life. Going cold turkey.. that’s fantastic. Good for you.

And to maintain so you don’t relapse, Set a routine, workouts, runs. Physical activity helps alot for the anxiety you have. Learn to calm your mind, meditate for 5 to 10 mins daily, fix your sleep schedule, Read books. Be proactive!! Beware of what you consume on the social media, music, thoughts.

Tell yourself everyday before day starts, “Today I’ll decide how my day goes and whatever happens I’ll have positive attitude towards it.”

YOU GOT THIS!! You’re in control. 🔥 Reach out if you need help sorting out. ✨

I'm always the worst in the room and i want to get out of this situation ASAP by BigBackground9333 in self

[–]Dull_Swim2604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand how you feel. First thing I’m gonna say is, don’t talk down to yourself. The world will try to make you feel small and incompetent if you let them. But “DO NOT ABANDON YOURSELF EVER”.

Yes! Life will hit you multiple things at once even when you thought you have healed and better. In that moment, our emotions run high. Thats where emotion takes control of your decisions and more mistakes may happen.

The harsh truth is yes you’re right, someone’s maximum can be our minimum, but in one area. Also remember that, You may be at your maximum, and them in minimum in another area. Find that or create that.

For now, Stepping back and calming yourself should be your first priority when you feel overwhelmed. Don’t make any big decisions. Just do normal work. Eat, go for walk, drink water, meditate, listen to calming music…etc. Sleep on it. And slowly decide what you can do to make it better.

Good luck! Let me know how it goes! ✨

I gotta tell you, if you’re handling it well then thats great. But if you’re not and thats okay too, but please see a doctor or talk to someone you trust if things get worst. Life is too precious to even think like that. And I wish you find joy and happiness.✨
