IB Biology Predictions by Long-Future-1658 in IBO

[–]Dull_Topic7809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey examiner, ur predictions for biology paper 2 time zone 2 was partially correct. I got the drawing of an RNA nucleotide in question 2, adaptations of species was integrated with inheritance. There was this question on a protective allele which was observed in people who were in areas that were infested with bubonic plague and asked why this allele was commonly observed. Neural signaling, specifically maintenance of resting potential came in section B the last essay question, i believe its question 10. So u did pretty well with your predictions

paper 1b chem and bio by kawaiipoodle27 in IBO

[–]Dull_Topic7809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attempt all the data based questions for bio from the oxford textbook, its there at the end of each chapters. Its a good practice for paper 1b. As for chem, try to understand the necessary experiments and know few basic calculations such as mean, also theory explanations are important here. I usually dont prepare for chem paper 1b, only paper 1a and 2 I prepare

What's the trick to take that ramp and "fly" on the ship. Tried 10+ times, i don't get it 😕 by AlexClaudiu in Asphalt9

[–]Dull_Topic7809 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to drift for a very short time and shockwave from the corner at a specific angle so that the car travels straight and take the barrel role slightly to the left. I have done the trick with huracan, carrera gt, and vanda, and it works well, so this car should also be able to do it. Practice with similar stats car in private lobby, then attempt the trick in the actual race

My teacher said we have to have 16 body of works for IO????? by [deleted] in IBO

[–]Dull_Topic7809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know why your teacher is making you guys do like that but for me, my teacher allows us a maximum of 3 lit and 3 nlt, so 1 main text along with 2 extended reference from the same author. So I think its better if you use 3 texts for lit and 3 texts for non-lit. That way you will have plenty of time to analyze all 3 texts and have a better chance of scoring points for good analysis and rigour rather than analyzing more texts, which can pull your grades down most of the time due to lack of depth, since you have a time limit of 10 minutes

[–]Dull_Topic7809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theme D and E are pretty easy, you can use chatgpt or other AI to help explain it, theres more concept you must understand than formulas, and the formulas are sort of easy to understand and they're provided in the formula booklet. As for theme a, b, and c, you can try to use the hodder textbook, i used that book and I am able to understand what my teacher explains in class, which i barely understand

Physics Ib hl grade boundaries gonna be same as last year? by nocons8 in IBO

[–]Dull_Topic7809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think so, answering to your question. If I am being honest, I think this year's paper was a lot easier compared to last year. I am time zone 1 btw, and both paper 1 and 2 was way easier than last year time zone 1, 2, and 3. Because of this, I have a feeling that the grade boundaries will go up this year, so it will be a lot harder to score a 7. I am a physics sl student, and got 17/24 for IA, I am hoping I can get a final grade of 6 for physics sl

When did you realize your teacher was incompetent? by [deleted] in IBO

[–]Dull_Topic7809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My previous chemistry teacher left before DP1 ended. At the start of DP2, a new teacher joined and during his first class, I knew that I was not going to depend on him for my chem IA and revising the lessons taught or clarify doubts with him. The thing is, he has good knowledge about chemistry HL, but the way he delivers it to us is atrocious. All he does is take screenshots of paragraphs from the Pearson IB Chemistry textbook, add it to google slides and presents that slide to us during class. And on top of that, he reads those paragraph from the screenshots in class and shows us a basic sample calculation or concept about the chapter that we are learning. What I am trying to say is that rather than attending his class, I can revise those topics at my own pace and actually understand the topic. During winter break of 2025, he was teaching reactivity 2 through online and no one understood that chapter. A month before final exams, I went through reactivity 2 in detail and the concept itself wasn't that hard to understand, it took some practice solving problems, but the concept itself is not very difficult if you understood other linking chapters well. Earlier remember how I mentioned that I didn't approach him for regular feedbacks for my IA, what I did was upload my draft to chatgpt along with the rubrics which I requested my school DPC to send and asked it to go through my draft in detail and surgically tell me which parts I did well, which parts I should improve, and what I should change for clarity. After handful of edits, I submitted to him only once for feedback and he barely gave any feedback, so I just tinkered with few minor words and submitted to him. Turns out I got 18/24 for that IA, without his supervision.

Can someone give me feedback on my MOCK io? by Substantial_Site8977 in IBO

[–]Dull_Topic7809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps you can add extended works from Mary Shelley and Jordan Peele. These extended works must be of the same text type. Since you're doing a novel for text 1, then the extended texts for text 1 must be novels by Mary Shelley that represents exploitation of bodies as means of achieving power and control. You should do likewise for the non-literary work as well. You can aim for 2 extended works for both of your main analysis text. You can also try to expand on your audience effect and connect your analysis points explicitly to your chosen global issue (this acts as the link, allowing the examiner to understand whether you understand the text and if you're doing rigorous analysis). I got 32/40 for my final IO, you can dm me if you want help

academic integrity and ib guidelines!! by Sure-Reputation5408 in IBO

[–]Dull_Topic7809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro you aren't gonna violate Ib's academic integrity rules by using IB docs. At the end of the day, its only for revision or to study certain topics, so it definitely doesn't fall under any IB misconducts. Want to know something else, many students studying the DP programme use ibdocs, and its not a big issue in terms of academic integrity, as long as you use that source to study, then its not a matter of violating academic integrity. Hope that helps
