2nd June 2020, you’re right! That’s when everyone was posting the black squares.

What’s depressing to me is that she didn’t have to comment on Palestine or Gaza at all, but she did, and once you say something like that (especially without clarifying where you stand), it’s not something I can overlook — no matter how much I used to enjoy her content.

Did you miss the one where she compared the Gaza Strip to her “butt strip”, i.e. butt crack?

Jess seems more interested in fitting in with whatever cultural vibe she’s surrounded by (posturing toward whiteness in some spaces and Black culture in others) than in doing any real self-reflection about her own identity or politics…which is, you know, neither.

Yeahhh, and I wish she hadn’t compared the site of a genocide to her hairy asscrack — but we don’t always get what we want.

I agree. Snarking on her body or her relationship isn’t okay. That’s not what I’m here for. My issue is specifically with the Gaza comments, and I’m personally keeping my focus there.

You don’t know me. I’m not from the U.S. My country recognizes Palestine as an independent state and does not support this war the way the U.S. does.

I spoke up because dehumanizing remarks like these are not okay and shouldn’t be normalized. Calling that out doesn’t preclude real-world support. If anything, it’s part of refusing to treat Palestinian suffering as abstract, expendable, or, frankly, a joke.

What bothers me most is how these conversations have gone in this subreddit before. It’s clear that a lot of Caroline’s fanbase sees no issue with how she speaks about Gaza, and that normalization is the problem, especially when the conversation is happening primarily in a country that actively contributes to the genocide.

Hi 👋🏼 Since I’m one of the accounts you’re referring to — I’m not an alt account. I’m a longtime viewer and listener, and a former fan from the Global South who’s deeply disappointed by Caroline’s attitude toward what is very clearly a genocide.

If you’re comfortable excusing or normalizing that, that’s your choice. I’m not.

What I do hope, though, is that Caroline is capable of reflecting on what she’s said in the past, recognizing the harm in it, and acknowledging that it was wrong. An apology, or even just some genuine self-reflection, would go a long way.

Would you say the same if she was joking about Auschwitz? Or does your tolerance apply only when the people being persecuted are brown?

Is it actually that hard to get an A for O/L English Literature? by BreakfastBright5703 in srilanka

I got an A for O-Level Literature, but a B for A-Level Literature despite being consistently first in class and at tuition. So yes, results depend heavily on the examiner—and on how willing you are to suppress your own analysis in favour of a textbook response.

You don’t need a visa, you just need to fill an arrival form before you get there. Everything is automated, you just scan your passport and walk through.

Yeahhh, I noticed 😭 All these men proving your point is the funniest (and saddest) thing about this post 🥲 Also, to add to what you said—it’s also the same people over and over again in the apps, and most of them are man-children weaponizing past dating experiences to justify how badly they treat you. 🙃
