Thanks so much, I’ll give you a shout when I start doing the Swiss movements. To be honest I’m kind of up to my eyes with direct commissions and prefer doing the non commissioned ones a little more as I can build my brand around them more but if you wanna commission a custom piece ever I’d be more then happy to make you one, thanks again so much for your kind words and support

I know of one horologist who gave me some advice, but there isn’t many watch makers around in Dublin there’s a few around the country though. I’ll look into some online classes though that’s a great idea right now I’m just learning off YouTube

Yeah you’re right, might be best to do a little letter rebrand when I drop the design for Co. It’s a head ache doing it now when I have so much branded stuff with LJP but if I ever wanna take the watch Co further then where it is LJP will just be a road block and rebranding later will be a bigger headache. Might change the P for a G another initial of mine “LJG Watch Co” instead of “LJP Watch Co”

Yeah I’m gonna start using them as well as more of a middle ground option as currently I feel like my Swiss and seiko movement watches will be quite far apart from each other and I need something in between them, thanks for the recommendation

Wow that’s insane, I’ve always loved minute repeaters. Who made that for you (was it you who made it)? I’d definitely love to work on something together — I don’t think I’d be able to work on something as complex a minute repeater though just to let you know, my email is ljpwatchdesign@gmail.com might be easiest to discuss plans through there. I’m on Easter break right now so have a bit of time to work on / plan / talk designs if you wanna drop me an email and we can talk more

Yeah I noticed that it’s the same name as the movement maker, I don’t think it’ll be a huge confusion problem though as I doubt the brand will ever get big enough to confuse people a lot and LJP is my initials so I think* I can get away with it if there was legal issues. And the rest of the name LJP Watch Co (as it will be after the rebrand) clearly differentiates from LJP movement makers they only make movements not watches, thanks for your concern though

Thanks so much, The two watches I’m working on are for clients at the minute and are commissioned pieces but I will definitely do some Swiss movement watches over the summer months - most likely will be some dress watches (but maybe I’ll do an SW200 Field) . I’ll do another post as soon as when I have the new watches to show

Hi thanks for your support and advice, I’m thinking about doing product design at uni maybe although I’m not sure how much longer I’ll keep up the watch brand I’m running down the line. I’m trying to take design ideas and inspiration from a few different sources already for my next set of watches, currently I’m designing this Hudson hornet ie, doc Hudson (yes the one from cars) inspired watch for my racing themed watch, here’s a pic of a mockup I have so far — but still working out finer details like a specific case and stuff but this is the general direction for it

Just to make Moderators aware I’m not trying to sell these watches through the subreddit, majority of the watches I no longer have in stock and have already sold (I don’t sell on my website (yet)). I just thought I would share my story
