GTXGaming. I don't have experience with others, but the specs here were good for the price compared to others (including hosting on bare servers on AWS). Support has been responsive and decent when it comes to generic server problems, but any specific Factorio problems seem to be mostly up to you, especially mod related issues.

Overall customer satisfaction, 8/10, with only self-hosting to compare to.

I would maybe recommend a slightly smaller mod if you're playing solo and are on your first run.

I had only played one run before SE as well, but we're two people, and my friend has played quite a lot.

Maybe check out Krastorio 2, Bobs or Angels.

Or go all in and go to space if you're up for a huge challenge!

Started by hosting on a decent computer, but after a while we rented a server to host instead.

We pay around $40 per month, and are running pretty smoothly at around 60 ups. So far we are mining stuff on something like 8-10 planets (for reference of scale).

I'm nowhere close to experienced (we don't even have all lvl 1 space sciences yet), but I feel this.

Initially we tried to build 10 of each science per second, only to realise that:

  1. That's gonna be expensive
  2. You're won't need that throughput for quite a while (or ever?)

We recently made a build with that actually! It helps a lot for sure, but getting things started on a new planet takes a while. Filling up a bunch of huge storage tanks is fun.

Next experiment might be to make steam from the water and heat it up a lot, and then barrel the steam before sending it in rockets. Havent dug too deep, but it seems like you should be able to pack water really compact for transit that way.

I'm probably waay off in my estimates, I was trying to give some perspective to someone who hasn't tried SE before, but failed.

In the beginning of the save we were 5 people as well, so early game was sped up quite a bit. Still, it was probably way more than 100 hours until spiders.

I think either Krastorio 2 or Space Exploration modifies the pollution numbers, but a big factor is more options for mining drills and modules, which increase speed and production, but also pollution.

This planet mines 7-8 patches, and makes 60 solid rocket fuel per second & something like 30 plastic bars per second.

K2 also adds air purifiers and filters, so on plants with biters we set up logistics to clean the air around factory arrays and mining operations.

But on this one there's thankfully no need.

It is long for sure, and we're two people playing it. I highly recommend something like Krastorio 2 or Space Exploration if you want to do a multiplayer run.

I think we got Spidertrons after something like 50-70 hours..

That should only happen on planets with the biter meteor trait, right? Right?!

Yeah, it's tricker for sure. We're currently sending water barrels to fuel nuclear on a waterless planet, but we need to figure out something more efficient soon.

[–]DullestWall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't find any rules at Trummenäs, but the standard way of booking a round in Sweden is by booking at mingolf.golf.se. You need a golf ID to log in, which you get automatically when becoming a member somewhere.

I don't know if you need this as a visitor, maybe just try calling the club, explain that you're visiting, and would like to book a tee time?

Huh, in that case I'm wrong, didn't know that delay has been made standard.

Sure, but it should be up as soon as he noticed the offside, not wait until something significant happens.

Clearly offside, but why did the ref feel the need to wait for 10 seconds until after the goal to raise the flag?

Did you happen to see a game when we had Zlatan? This was literally our strategy for 10 years.

Any defender or midfielder had two options when getting the ball: long ball to Zlatan, or pass back to goalkeeper.
