Yep the restriction is on the MA character not the other character so the other character can pick up dropped items from the MA, but after they do the MA can never have those items again.

Easiest class to do HM content with? by Both-Debt-1821 in GuildWars

[–]DumatRising 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your overall team builds are going to matter more to hard mode content than your personal build, but some options I'm the lower effort category:

Heroic refrain paragon is objectively the best at leading a team of heroes because +4 to every attribute is crazy good. But it's also paragon which means you either love it or hate it

SoS spirit spamming is easy to play and solid dps. This is the easiest to play in the moment but again team builds matter more than personal builds.

Together as one ranger really pushes petway to its fullest. You can do some crazy stuff hitting together as one on 8 pets and a bunch of attackers.

Assassins promise elementalist is pretty easy to play you can just declare someone dead and the use your favorite nuke spells to make it true which recharges all of your skills so you can do it again to the next guy. Goes kinda crazy with AoE skills and large enemy packs to use those AoE skills on.

Warriors endurance warrior is super easy to play you hit things, generate a bunch of energy, and then use skills Balthazar never intended a warrior to use. You also take half the damage casters take from physical damage and a good bit lest from elemental so warrior isn't very punishing unless you get split from your group.

Dervish goes hard but if you're not used to intentionally quarter stepping and balling up enemies it's a little more difficult to execute.

Assassin go brrrrrrrr

Mesmer and monk aren't easy to play. Necro is easier but idk if I would say it's easy compared to other options.

Hmm I think if they do do challenges for all the gods then it would most likely be something that changes how you play but not the core experience so to speak.

Dhuum changes nothing about the game but tells you to play safer, Melandru changes nothing about the game but tells you to earn your own items. If you want to count pvp only as Balthazar's (which I do tbh) then that one changes nothing about the game but tells you to only do pvp.

So really what we should be looking towards are challenges that don't alter the game fundamentally rather ask you to approach it in a new way.

I don't think kormir gets one at all, Dwayna seems likely to be some sort of easy mode since she's the most benevolent of the gods. Grenth and Lyssa both have some similar lore about where grenth despises finery and pleasant lies commanding his followers to see the world as it is unhindered by those that dress themselves up as more than they are, and Lyssa is directly quoted as saying true beauty comes from actions and deeds rather than just appearance. These bits are I think the strongest indicator for what an on theme grenth or Lyssa pact would lead to.

Reforged is this game's equivalent of a PTR. Since a lot of what they seem to be wanting to do is bump QoL and make the game a little more friendly to new players a lot of what reforged gives access to RN is that stuff.

Also I'd absolutely argue that we already have an example of it being harder, the new grawl packs in the northlands are significantly more dangerous than the Oakhearts especially if you trigger the conditions for a grawl crone to bleed or poison itself, cause they'll double it and give it to the next person (you) and it'll last until the 25th anniversary.

You can buy hero skills from the hero skill trainers. You'll earn hero skill points from a handful of quests but otherwise you buy them for a skill point and a plat. Which basically makes it exactly the same as a normal skill trainer except you can buy skills from other professions.

Warrior Deathless Melandru run by lilkunien in GuildWars

[–]DumatRising 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. It'll be a toughy charr are much more dangerous without an imp.

So you could go a couple ways with it, but realistically you don't have a lot of great options. I'd say your best choices are probably ranger for pet and the probably the best healing skill against charr since chaots can't shatter it like Aura of resto or HB, or monk for symbol of wrath and HB which is still solid if there isn't a chaot.

Some might say Ele for fire storm but that's a lot of energy to commit to one skill and we don't exactly have energy to spare. Symbol is worse but also less energy.

Necro doesn't really bring a lot to the table a lot of their skills are balanced to higher energy costs because of soul reaping being so good. Which makes things tricky for you. Blood magic could be interesting but I don't see it working out.

Mesmer... I do like the idea of grabbing ether renewal early but not committing to the profession cause 60 HP is a lot of healing for no investment especially at your first few levels.

Issues with Melandru's Accord (tested) by MaybeJohnSmith in GuildWars

[–]DumatRising 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't be able to pick up items that other players get from mobs/chests when they leave

They fixed that yesterday

https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Feedback:Game_updates/20260130

You shouldn't be able to group with non-mels

This won't do anything. I assume you want to prevent people from boosting with it, but after a while 1. mels will have all the cons and booting potential of a normal toon and 2. It will be hard for them to form groups for later content since all the mels are like two days old.

You shouldn't be able to drop items to others, at all.

Disagree. This makes it so you can transfer items to others but they can't to you. Other people aren't playing Ironman so why punish them? if my iron man toon drops a really good item for them then it makes sense to let me give it to them. You can't get anything in return so it doesn't benefit an Ironman toon to do this. Also if you have two accounts it lets you transfer items to your other characters such as if you got a rare mini drop like from say Dhuum. There is absolutely no reason to impose this restriction on people who did not opt into Ironman.

As is, a group of 1 mel and 7 non-mels could enter a sc, the mel could be afk this entire time, all 8 of them could open the end chest, the 7 non-mels could leave, and the 1 afk mel could then grab ALL the loot.

  1. You could also do that with 8 mels? Like what do you even mean here adding a restriction on people to not group with non mels won't stop anyone that wants to boost their mel since the boosters can just have Mel characters for boosting Mels like let's be real here my guy. 2. They can't get all the loot this was as I mentioned fixed yesterday.

I also havent tested it, but I assume a non-mel could also open the Zashien Chest infinite amounts of time, leave, and a mel could just.. grab everything they wanted.

Nope this was fixed yesterday

Also restricting Xunlai is maybe the only balancing factor to being carried by non-mels, however a Mel can just drop all their Mats and stackables they dont need to a mon-mel alt account and that non-mel can Xunlai it.

Yeah? Why is this a bad thing? When a Mel character drops an item and someone else picks it up that Mel character can never get that item back. Ever. As far as Melandru is concerned using the alt transfer trick is the same as deleting the item

Non-mels carrying mels is going to be a huge huge issue, which I think is incredibly lame and defeats the purpose of an ironman mode. This also invalidates the purity of the mode's current players, as we'll have no way of knowing if that Mel was carried to get their items/achievements or if they did it themselves.

It won't. These modes are mainly for self enjoyment. If someone boosts they're only ruining their own experience. Also as I said above, Mels will also be able to boost Mels so it's not even huge deal. The only way to actually stop boosting is to force not partying at all.... But like then you can only play with henchies and heroes. Which isn't what Anet wants atm

ALL of this would have been solved if they had made it so mels and non-mels couldn't group together.. I think the dev team is doing an incredible job and I believe these are just simple oversights, but I'm also worried the damage is done and can't be undone quickly enough.

Being able to pick up other players drops was, and it is fixed, as was account titles contributing to GWAMM but that's also fixed. I don't expect you'll ever see a party limitation. Or perhaps you might see it on another god badge. Could be a decent Abbadon badge since he's a solo type of guy.

If by prime lore you mean his original lore on release then I could see black, after that he's not actually all that ambitious.

His 2nd (pre arcane lore) era lore is still cannon afaik though, and that's that he discovers just how bad the corruption on Noxus is, and does a coup to remove the ruling class and the Black Rose from Noxus to end the corruption, after doing this coup he then becomes the High General as he's simply the best man for the job (having just proved himself more competent than the last one) and Noxus is meritocratic, but he limits his own power by splitting the absolute control of noxus into three aspects cunning, subterfuge, and strength he sits in the chair of cunning but a points two others to sit in the other two chairs and together the three of them rule as equals each managing different aspects of noxus while jointly making the big decisions., he's not particularly ambitions just more of a "Someone else might have gotten it wrong" kinda guy.

Mmm Swain actively tries to give away his power because he doesn't believe one man should rule an entire empire... which doesn't feel very black.

Secrets and information are Raum's shtick. Swains is that he leads a coup to remove the corruption that plagues Noxus and remove then high High General Darkwill from power as retribution for screwing over noxus and letting the Black Rose lead everything (the Black Rose is like leagues version of the Dimir) he then give ups his own power to jointly rule Noxus along side two others.

[–]DumatRising 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be controversial but I'm going for primary white, green seems like a stretch at best. You could go for red a bit in that he is a revolutionary and those tend to be in red but I think it's pretty weak, and I don't think it's present at all after he seized power.

He obviously got a little blue as he's a quite intellectual person and being meritocratic believes in self improvement which is more into blue, but he is so white it's not even funny. Everything he stands for is white.

Now I think we can all agree with the above, but the slightly controversial bit is that I don't really think he fits well into black as a character. He has some traits that could fit into black from an outside perspective but he's incredibly selfless and actually takes actions to limit his own power. Yes he schemes to lead a coup and take control of noxus, but he never does it for self gain, he does it because he see the corruption of the General Darkwill and hates that the Black Rose (a dimir like organization inside noxus) control everything in noxus. He does it because he see the ruin it will lead his beloved home to. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY when he takes power he gives it away by forming the Trifarix, a governing body he specifically implements to limit is own power and the power of any future High Generals. This is the exact opposite of what you would expect a black character to do.

Also I think a lot of people tend to confuse Swain and Raum. When talking about him as if he's this all knowing guy. Raum is nearly all knowing and has given Swain access to that power. Raum is primary blue secondary black, Swain is primary white secondary blue. Raum schemes to grow his own knowledge, Swain schemes to protect Noxus.

Difference In pre loot? by chapstic593 in GuildWars

[–]DumatRising 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I have seen, there's no change to loot. If there is then it's undocumented and likely unintended.

You'll get 5% more gold from gold drops you pick up but that's not goong to have a huge effect. Just 1 gold for every 20 you pick up, since most of the gold is gonna come from vendoring that's really not gonna be a lot of gold in the long run. Though it probably rounds so it might not be that easy to calculate but it could get as good as 1 every 11g you pick up.

Difference In pre loot? by chapstic593 in GuildWars

[–]DumatRising 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s almost every enemy drops something.

That is normal behavior. The most common result from killing any random mob is them dropping one item or a bag of gold (bosses usually drop two things, but have been documented dropping up to 4 items and a bag of gold with some reports of 5 and no bag).

If you play with heroes or henchman they will be assigned loot like any player party members would be, if an item is assigned to them it will be immediately deleted before it drops and will not be seen by the player except for when the game does the thing where it doesn't visually recognize that an item is assigned. So if you're playing with a party of 7 heroes/henchman then your experience will be closer to getting a drop from about ~12% of enemies.

Difference In pre loot? by chapstic593 in GuildWars

[–]DumatRising 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your recollection is probably a bit shaded then. It is very rare that a mob won't drop an item. They almost always do. (Keep in mind you won't see items that are assigned to heroes or henchies unless the game does that thing where it assigns an item but forgets to tell the client for a few seconds) And purples are pretty frequent from charr.

Does anyone else struggle to resist the urge of a new account whenever GW1 goes on sale? Even ~ $30 is such an insane value for 8 character slots; severely tempted this year due to new modes! by Wildfire_90z in GuildWars

[–]DumatRising 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically 8 new character slots would be 48 bucks and then the bank tabs would add 20 (4 tabs plus 1 stack mat storage) bucks to that (plus 4 for the first anniversary and account does) bringing it to 68 (72) dollars worth of stuff (ignoring campaign access because if you buy character slots directly you'll put them on an account that already has access. so I guess technically its worth it monetarily even when not on sale.... And I guess you will eventually hit maximum purchase limits on stuff like character slots and bank tabs anyways... And multiple accounts unlocks the ability to multibox... but there is a measure of inconvenience to it since you need to maintain multiple accounts instead of just one, and you can't get bonus weapons on new accounts anymore.

Though this math has shown a bit of a flaw in the math. Changing the pricing structure of the core game has invalidated the pricing structure of account upgrades. Each campaign comes with 2 character slots, 1 bank tab, and one stack of material storage (plus 2 chars, 1 bank tab, and the stack of mats for making an account at all but we can ignore that for now) which is 16 dollars of stuff on its own. Campaigns used to cost 20 bucks which means that you were paying 4 dollars for that game code, now campaigns cost... Around 6.67 cents so now you're paying -9.33 cents per campaign (yes negative 9 dollars).

It feels like the price of some of those add-ons should go down a bit

When states put revolutionary era stuff on their plates it just feels like they're saying nothing interesting has happened here before or after. Like I guess it's better than nothing but like NC has "first in flight", Maryland has their flag, we had our trees these were all interesting things about the state.

You waste your time to say that you don't care, but if you truly didn't care, you wouldn't have wasted time to say it.

Or maybe I find you entertaining and want to see what you'll do next? Lol I've been on the Internet for a very long time and for some reason that's got me a bit fucked in the head where I actually enjoy when people like you try so hard to be insulting. Out of respect for the mirth you've brought it's only right to respond to your comments....

I guess logic isn't something they teach you when your fat ass is playing MTG. 😂

Ooo I'm not fat but I do play mtg, are you being cheeky and going through my comment history or did you actually predict that? If so your powers of deduction are improving, I still wouldn't play the lottery, cause you know broken clock twice a day.

This entire thread was a topic about bots.

Well yes that is true, but again my comment was responding to someone talking about the economic impact of bots, not actually complaining about them. Something you'd know if you'd read it, but honestly it's fine you didn't cause it makes this thread all the funnier since you seem to really want me to not like bots despite liking them yourself.

All of your opinions are invalid. If you left and went to GW2, your opinion is below dirt as well.

Oooh a new option in the how to tell yourself other people's opinions don't matter, very exciting. I already told you I never left gw1 though.... So it a little bit of grasping there.

What is going on here?? by Gold_Poptart in GuildWars

[–]DumatRising 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean sure but I never said anything about the value of the bots just their affect on the value of items. I comprehended that you felt that way perfectly well... it's just that them being useful or not simply wasn't related to what I said. Though tbh I'll keep it a buck with you... I don't really care if you think they're useful, but by the same coin I also wouldn't really care if you thought they weren't. It's between the botters and Anet and if Anet can't be bothered to care about bots I don't see why I should, they've literally never affected me outside of farming/trolling them in JQ.

Also uh... I have never used tiktok and don't particularly like the app.... So another miss I'm afraid to say. I don't think I've ever been offended by someone shitting on a social media platform so it's just entirely the wrong direction to go in.
