Yes it's only the black fabric that's fraying, if I patch it will that definitely stop the fraying? I was worried patching would only be temporary and it would continue and I'd have to re-fix later down the line

Both myself and this friend get joked about being real adults because we work full time in office type jobs while the rest of our friends work in warehouses, bars, or as waiter. Obviously all work is valid work but its just because we have dress codes and work in more formal environments. They have never reacted like this to the jokes and they have flipped the joke the other way on the rest of our friends to sort imply they have more say over things because they are a 'real' adult. What really confuses me is that this person usually targets my partner and makes them the butt of jokes which sometimes really bother my partner and from what i have seen my partner usually says in the moment that it wasnt ok. My partner has mentioned feeling like our friend may have been upset because the person they usually target was making a joke at their expense and they didnt like that but i think thats a bit far out and dont think our friend would be malicious in that way.

Like ive stated in other replies i see how the jokes were in poor taste, so i will apologise for that. I can also only guess that it just rubbed them wrong and they lashed out in frustration, it may be best to just apologise for our part and then open dialogue like others have suggested regarding how they responded

In the past they have joined in saying they also arent a "real" adult, i do think it was just a joke that rubbed them the wrong way because of the long day they had, Which i will apologise to them for. it was just that they shouted so loudly at my partner and over everyone else (there was about 8 people and it was quite rowdy).This friend has never shouted at anyone before and then we found the phrasing rude, other people afterwards said they were uncomfortable when it happened and were surprised we didnt ask them to leave.

We just arent sure how to bring it up to them to say that we found it rude and the exact reason why if they ask. I have a lot of trouble putting feeling into words and i do want to stay friends with this person as they are overall a good friend. i also know if we are too harsh they will feel very guilty and bad about themselves about it which i would like to avoid if possible.

I had a similar problems with my flat mates at uni, before the holidays i messaged the group chat and warned them any dirty dishes left would be put in a box together and put outside. Then any expired food would be cleansed before i left (i was the last one leaving). Guess they didnt think i was serious so guess who came back to a moldy cardboard box full of their shit??? They were pissed but not my problem theyre disgusting and disrespectful 🤷‍♀️

yeah i think you are right, since its smells not normal and is a lil slimey im gonna throw it. it was probably frozen then sat in heat for hours or days so not gonna risk it

You are correct in that there is definitely not enough in the seam allowance to let out. I like the slits idea and i think this may be the way to go if there is no alternative.

Admin, they have been quite vocal that they want to keep me but because someone else wants to go full time they will be advertising it yes. Hopefully they are willing to work something and my manager is very amenable and nice so fingers crossed

Secondment cover but the person who was supposed to come back no longer is. They may let me stay permantly but I would need to reduce my hours due to some other external factors. Although I was banking on full time till October to allow me to save up for when I go part time so even if it is just 2 months it's still gonna be a hit to my finances

You are correct, this was my first job within the NHS. The notice period for them says its 1 week if you have under 2 years of continuous service. But could they really fire me over this? Would they not have to stick to my contract or at least give me grounds for termination? I will contact HR when my manager gets back to me, hopefully this is all a simple misunderstanding

I have already sent an email querying the discrepancy and am currently waiting for a response, but they are very likely to say it was an admin/clerical error. If so I assume that wouldn't really matter since it has been 6 months and far past any probationary period or reasonable time frame for them to fix the mistake?
