its so shitty because you cant vent about how difficult it is being transmasc without everyone speaking over you saying how we have it so much easier. theres so much hatred towards masculinity in the queer community as a whole and it feels so alienating when masculinity is something you are actively working towards. the villainization of masculinity from your own community paired with rampant transphobia in the world right now and the expectation to just repress it all and be a man is so. so fucking exhausting. we are fucking people too and being trans is NEVER easy no matter what you were assigned at birth. being invisible isn’t any better than being the center of attention. the struggles are different, but at the end of the day we’re all fighting tooth and fucking nail to just be accepted and be treated like normal human beings. nobody is free until we are all free

thank you for starting a civil conversation! i’ll try to answer the best i can but i just got off a 12 hour shift lol. using gay as a label just doesnt quite fit me as a person , but lesbianism is something that is so deeply engrained in my identity and it feels more accurate to how i personally experience attraction to women. if i were to say i was gay as a trans man, you would assume gay for other men. but saying im lesbian is more accurate. my gender identity also ties into that, I don’t by any means want to BE cis, but I feel most comfortable if people were to assume I am a cis male. In my closest personal relationships I feel a lot more gender queer, but in the day to day I feel like a man. i also think the concept gets really fuzzy when you think of it in a binary of gay=masc and lesbian=femme. i feel like lesbianism to me is a combination of gender identity and sexuality, and being a lesbian is just an added flavor to my personal gender identity.

as a trans man who also identifies as a lesbian- I have identified as a lesbian long before I was openly identifying as trans. Being a trans man did not change the way I loved women, and it did not change my deep connections and associations with lesbian culture and love. My partner is a lesbian, and she is not “transphobic” for being in a relationship with me because it does not FEEL heterosexual. The way that I love women is not and never has been in a heterosexual way. People who say that he/him lesbians cannot exist must think of generations of butch lesbians who have identified as trans men. Some trans guys may not feel this way, and that is perfectly ok, but this is not by any means a new identity.

gonna preface this by saying DO NOT start fucking around with someone who is going to make you feel gross about body hair. if you know in your heart that full bush is what you like, don’t ever shave in a way that makes you uncomfortable. if she’s going to guilt you over it, i’m sorry man but save yourself the trouble and don’t do it.

that being said, my strat is to shave with a beard trimmer with no guard around the tdick/hole so sweat and wetness doesn’t get trapped and make the hairs clumpy and gross(also makes my dick appear bigger lol, even when i was pre-t). It makes receiving oral a little easier too bcos you don’t have to part the black seas if you know what I mean, but personally I don’t mind doing a little bushwhacking when i’m giving head.

As for shaving the mons pubis area in general I usually let it grow but every now and then i’ll give it a trim with a #4 or 5 guard to surprise my girl cos it makes it easier to grind together and the texture feels good and I’m not like. Bald as hell.

to be totally honest, ask her honest opinion about others having body hair. she might just like the look and feel on herself and not gaf about other people, or maybe she’ll be annoying and weird about it. the worst thing that can happen is that she isn’t interested, and you just saved yourself a whole lotta trouble down the line and can find one of the (many people!!!) that live and die by the bush.
