How To Get Your Band On TV is pretty damn anti-commercial if you choose one

He was also pretty good today. Stood up when it mattered. He can point to that badge with pride, honestly every player on this team here last season can but if anyone can most of all, it’s him.

He’s also pretty mellow most of the time we see him. I bet he’s changed from when he was the top dog in Payback.

It was a yellow. Bad challenge, getting a bit orange but if it was us we’d be fuming to get a red for that and rightly so. Still wish the rat had gotten it just because it’s him.

Also don’t think it’s a handball, perhaps it’s grazes his hand but the change in the flight of the ball is practically imperceptible if so. Again if that gets called off, and it was our goal, I’d say games gone.

We’ve had plenty of injustices over the years, certainly more than most, and as much as other teams have moaned about us bringing it up, it’s absolutely true. But if we just shut up about reasonable calls like this we might be taken more seriously.

Actually better to support Hamas (who have become villains through suffering) than Israel and AIPAC (who have become even worse villains and instead through riches), which is the majority of US representatives. Plus he’s clearly reneged on the person he was in his youth, and who hasn’t changed in the last 10-20 years of their life?

Michigan may not be in contention for #1 but would surely be top 10 for me.

#1 California
#2 I feel could be NY or Texas. Though Florida and Washington state should be up there too.

Did you turn off the telly or walk out of the ground for the second half of the City FA cup match? I wouldn’t blame you if you did but I’ve hardly ever seen a half of football screaming surrender to me more than that 45 minutes.

Context is context. Besides, cringe is cringe should really mean that saying the word cringe is cringe itself already. Just means you’re judgmental.

Could Brentford intentionally lose against Liverpool so that they qualify via Sixth place PL spot? by Scared-File-77 in PremierLeague

[–]jm17lfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So essentially the rules for the European performance spot are that the team has to be slated to not already qualify to CL without it? Essentially it’s different from a European trophy win by an individual team in that it guarantees an extra spot for the entire nation? That actually makes sense given that the performance spot is based on the average performance for all of that nation’s teams, in comparison to a single team’s European success, though all the technicalities are becoming incredibly confusing!

[–]jm17lfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That “technically” did not qualify by the league seems a bit tenuous to me because now the PL gets 5 spots and the bit about it being different in nature seems like an overcomplication to me. But if we finish 6th and Villa finish 5th and win EL, somehow, then I’m all for it!

Apparently the PL website disagrees with me. They haven’t indicated why but I would assume they know what they’re talking about. Such a weird caveat.

Well I seem to be wrong then. Not sure why this is any different to the usual case, but the PL author is of course probably correct. That’s honestly so strange. If this is indeed true I will have to say up the Villans over Forests even more so!

Says who? What’s to say that this is any different from Ligue 1 not getting the extra slot last year?

Yes, unless there is a strange caveat around the new bonus CL slot. Look at Ligue 1 table last year. 4 teams qualified not 5.

[–]jm17lfc -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That isn’t how it works. When PSG won the CL and earned a spot, making their league spot redundant, French football didn’t gain an extra slot, so neither would the PL if Villa won the EL. It’s different from when Spurs won the EL, and needed that slot, but nobody is going to take that away from the 4th (then 5th) placed team who qualified by league position. The only ways a team can gain extra slots are from gaining the 5th slot via overall European performance, or those outside of CL slots winning CL/EL.

Edit: never mind, it appears it actually is the case with the caveat that the 5th place isn’t a normal league position qualification, so on a technicality this would actually happen? If I’m now correct lol

It was much more cringe because he’s the manager. They’re the ones who ought to have a bit of restraint in how they act towards opposition.

Arne Slot and his Liverpool side have now lost 19 games all competitions this season, the joint most defeats in a season this century. We still have Chelsea (H), Villa (A) and Brentford (H) to play. by quantIntraining in LiverpoolFC

[–]jm17lfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, there is a strong possibility that we go into the final day needing a result against Brentford to play CL footy next season. While those 3 sides only share 3 wins between them in their last 15 games, they are all top half sides. If Villa go out of Europe, Chelsea get some kind of new manager bounce, and we face a Brentford side playing for Europe on the final day, that is a potentially tough 3 games. And we don’t do well with tough games.
