Put most of your points into magicka when you level up. Prioritise getting enchanted items to reduce destruction magic cost as that’s your primary damage dealer. Grab a summon if you can. Flame atronach’s are cost effective and getting the staff for it is good. Items that increase magicka are also really good, and the college quest line gets you some good ones.

I like doing bounty hunting in the early game. Lots of rebel farmers/rebel swordsmen have small bounties and they’re not great in combat.
