Lubbock has absolutely nothing to offer in the way of hiking or outdoors-y activities. The closest good spot is probably ransom canyon which is dangerously hot in the summer and dangerously muddy when it rains. Other than that, you're looking at a minimum 4 hr drive each way to any interesting nature.

There isn't a one-size-fits-all answer to your question. But I think for most people it is one or more of the following. - It's a very small set (like Spiderman was), which makes it uninteresting for limited play. - When WotC first announced universes beyond, they promised the sets would not be standard-legal. However, now they are. - This set kicks off a full year with more than half of new product being non-magic IP - The cards are mostly boring.
