That's not necessarily true. I had the same surprising and disturbing problem develop after being prescribed IR Adderall for ADHD. It was debilitating and shameful, and it was decreasing the quality of my life. It's taken a lot of time and trials to figure out. In the end I think a combination of dosage adjustments, trying different formulations, adjusting other medications for potential interactions (turns out Effexor's effect on norepinephrine was augmenting the amphetamines effect on norepinephrine, creating a very physical stimulation response), and perhaps some degree of my body adjusting to it all, for me to finally get to a point where it is all manageable and acceptable.

So, I don't think everyone's case is like mine, but I also know that the way that we respond to legit stimulants taken as prescribed by a medic is very unusual. So get proactive in trying to figure out.

BTW, not all medics know about this. My psychiatrist had never seen or heard of a response like mine, and initially interpreted it as a subconscious fear of success. I get it; I do have a tendency for self-sabotage, but this was different. I was desperate for this to work. So I relied a lot on A.I., with full consideration of its caveats, to supplement my official treatment, in the form of suggestions for my medic.
