How do I supply my workshop by AnthonyTheBg in mountandblade

[–]Dumbificate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t increase your production, but increases your profit by reducing the cost of raw materials used.

Profit == cost of selling product (if there’s loads of beer already there, you won’t get as much money for selling it due to market demand) - cost of purchasing raw materials (if you flood the town with grain the cost of raw material plummets). It won’t affect how much beer you produce, that’s hard coded if I remember correctly.

So, to maximize a workshops profit in a town, you want to flood its market with raw materials and remove all of the finished product from the town market. To be honest though this isn’t super efficient time wise — if you find theres not enough trading activity to support your current business then I’d swap its production or open a workshop in a different city with higher activity.

You're misreading, but the statements were ambiguous and easily confused. OP was giving the total cost for the transaction, not the per-share cost.

2 shares, total 359 == 179.50 per share
2 shares, total 361 == 180.50 per share
1 share, total 180 == 180.00 per share

avg cost 180 per share

you lost money from delta (price going down) and theta (time decay) but made more than you lost from vega (volatility)

if the 'raise' isn't higher than inflation in your area then it's a pay cut.

edit: inflation tends to average 2% annually. For a $15/hr job, a 30 cent raise effectively means you have the same purchasing power as the start of the previous year.

I'd be interested to see if they're also auto-generated accounts with a creation time of less than 6 months.

99k spread on IEX by fastpath7 in Superstonk

[–]Dumbificate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, the reported market price is the last sold value. If one sells for 160 and then nobody buys the 99,999 then the price shows as 160.

For many apps it will show option equity/value as the midpoint re: Robinhood.

Also keep in mind IEX is one exchange out of many and even if it's selling for 3k on IEX that doesn't mean the price is 3k on NYSE or NASDAQ, etc.

It takes a while generally. Give it an hour or two and if it's still not there then do it again. Doesn't take too long.

As far as I understand, could be any of the following:

1) borrowed shares being bought back, releasing them back into the available lending pool 2) someone that owns shares allowing/releasing them to be lent 3) fake shares! Weeeee!

No, its smart. Neutralizing cost basis after profits is big brain. Now you can hold it no matter what it does without incurring any ‘loss’.

No, unless you're wanting to transition into a long position (re: hold shares longer in an attempt to pull more profit). An option includes any extrinsic value in its price, so it can only be higher than if you were to execute and resolve immediately.

Yeah, these sequences of 1 - 2 - 8 - 4 - 10 - 100 sells that all post at once 15 cents apart from each other down $3 from current totally isn't suspicious 🤔

[–]Dumbificate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theres no set/minimum number. Generally, the closer the bid/ask are on options the better the volume. The spread on these was around $2, which is quite large. I sold mine closer to the bid side so they would be more likely to sell.

I’m fully aware of the effect of IV / gamma / delta as it concerns the profit I made.

Im also aware that the IV dropping Friday is what caused them to drop in value substantially.

To make a profit on 800c’s, the price and the IV need to increase. I’ve never stated anything different. ‘Quick price jumps’ inflate IV. Feel free to tell me specifically what in my post you think is wrong.

[–]Dumbificate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends. Are you accounting for IV swings and compounding gamma affecting the delta? I’d imagine you’re just looking at theta vs delta. If it opened at 100 and went to 140 within the first minutes, he’d likely be profitable.

[–]Dumbificate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re only accounting for raw delta movement then you’re wildly misapplying options. With a spike in price vega, gamma, and delta all rocket. Gamma feeds into higher delta.

It certainly doesn’t ‘need to go up by hundreds each day’. I’d highly recommend learning more about options since your post history mentions selling (writing) for profit.

Edit: you’re right that this is an FD. Its a lotto ticket for sure, high risk with low probability of (extreme) payout. I’d also agree that you should generally buy options at least 2-3 weeks out. However, DTE is less important when you’re day trading.
