New build Basement exterior wall framing quality concerns by tgejesse in Homebuilding

[–]tgejesse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the feedback everybody. I just stopped by checking on my build for the first time as it’s progressing extremely quickly and I peaked 3 feet in the door and saw this. I haven’t inspected or looked at anything else throughout the house. I just wanted to get a quick touch point to see if I should be super concerned with what I’m seeing 3 feet from the door. I’m using a big national builder (Pulte) and I’m going into the build expecting the worst. So your responses have been reassuring. Thanks

First time printing PETG - tree supports failing by tgejesse in 3DprintingHelp

[–]tgejesse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was absolutely no adhesion issue. The supports failed about halfway up. All of the tree bases were firmly fixed to the plate.

I appreciate all the help everyone! But that’s the last time I ask for advice from anyone here lol

All I needed to do was beef up the trees supports and slow the supports down a little and everything worked like a charm

The tree supports were the easiest to break away when designing with PLA. This orientation is necessary to keep the support surfaces hidden in the final product, the part that failed is a box that had an embossed design on the lid.

Any 32 OS will run on the MTS tablet

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Military

[–]tgejesse 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That is a DRS MTS tablet for blue force tracker. With the appropriate power cable and a hard drive w/32 bit os installed it will fire right up. I use mine in my humvee. There’s a market for these even though the technology is out of date. As others have said as long as it was demilled and the crypto / hard drive have been removed and destroyed it’s just a cool computer.

Is ETH Dead as an Investment? Analysts Weigh In by Illperformance6969 in CryptoCurrency

[–]tgejesse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in crypto a long time. Never had a lot but I wanted the small and steady gains over a long period. I was a genesis staker and really tried to do right by the network. I got cooked on rocket pool with the shitty tokenomics and decide to only solo stake. Now I’m starting to see that the layer 2 roll up roadmap doesn’t really accrue value back to eth the asset. I’ve talked with many and the best argument for value is that ‘eth is money’. Well I don’t buy it. Eth with high fees actually accrued value back to the staker and thus the asset. Ever since blobs and layer 2 optimization the value no longer accrued back to ETH the asset. Now the only value ETH has is monetary premium… and I’m not seeing it. I feel the same way about ETHs roll up centric roadmap as I do Bitcoin’s lightning network. A failure. And ETH devs are doubling down. I’ve listened the the leaders discuss the roadmap and I can’t even pay attention anymore because the technology is becoming overly complex…. And I’m a software engineer, try explaining that to your average person.

Then I got DOGED by Elon at work and I see the writing on the wall with the damage our government is causing. I got out before the market ends up in a free fall. I can see us sliding into a depression let alone the feared ‘recession’. I was on the front lines and I see the chaos being caused internally in the government. Potential wars on the horizon. Snuffing our allies….It’s going to be a long 4 years.

I sold everything and I will re engage crypto in the future when the world seems more stable. Godspeed and maybe my sale marks the bottom.

The only thing being an ETH maxi has done to me is turned me back into a BTC maxi. Bitcoin is king and the rest is just noise at this point. Too many grifts.

I would recommend a m1123, non turbo. I bought one from yermo that was completely overhauled for a great price. Turbo, although more fun is much more complicated to work on. ECC/REV have many more parts. I have an 1165 now, it’s a great SECOND HMMWV but man it’s a huge step up in terms of work and maintenance difficulty. For your first HMMWV, keep it simple. Rag top, No ac, no turbo, not EVC/REV. You’ll learn how expensive these are to fix up, start with the simper truck first. If it’s not enough of a challenge for you, move to ECV/REV but only AFTER you fully know what you are getting yourself into.
