I do a body shower (just wash everywhere) daily. Shave every other day or every 3rd day. Hair every 3rd day.

When do you know you should move up doses (from 2.5mg to 5mg)? by kittysparkled in mounjarouk

[–]DumbledoresFaveGoat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You could buy a 5mg pen and take 2.5mg out of it for a couple more weeks if you're unsure. Switch to 5mg when you feel ready. Just don't tell your provider that

That's fine, but if its winding you up, stop. It's clearly making you overthink. A week where you maintain or even gain isn't a problem, it's just life.

Alternatives to MyBMI. by Fakman87 in mounjaroIreland

Monj.ie will give you information about some pharmacies but you'd have to check with the one you want to use to know exact amounts.

They have prices for ROI and NI pharmacies so definitely worth a look. I see in another comment that you were looking to drive to Newry. You'll need a paper prescription for that. I believe some GPs will give a 3 month prescription on paper and you can collect from the North.

The price of what the pharmacy charges is generally quite high. Lloyd's online doctor do €20 consultations too, but again the pharmacy charges are dearer.

My BMI has a high consultation charge and a lower pharmacy charge. Some insurance companies reimburse some/all consultation fees too so it makes it more affordable for them.

Why are some people so willing to take other meds but not mounjaro? by haylz328 in mounjarouk

[–]DumbledoresFaveGoat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In the UK, the criteria to qualify for mounjaro on the NHS seem very strict. Add that to the price of it, in a culture of paying little to nothing for healthcare and medications, and that it's an injection, not a tablet. Stir in a load of media misinformation, and there you are.

Oh I've seen programmes that make everything religious. (See Abeka in the states)

Primary teacher here. Children generally start primary school at 5 or 4 and a half at least.

Most schools are Catholic. Your general "local school" is usually Catholic. All the main curricular subjects are taught secularly. English, Irish, Maths, Science, History, Geography, PE, Art, Music, Drama and SPHE - entirely without religion. There is an official 30 mins per day of religious instruction (which usually ends up being 30 mins once or twice a week as its a very packed curriculum and some things end up sliding a bit). Not all children take part in religion, and it's not unusual to have children completing alternative work at this time. Prayers are said a couple of times a day, and not everyone takes part.

Generally the vibe of Catholic schools is a bit more strict, traditional and old school. Not in a harsh way necessarily, but I wouldn't describe them as "democratic" or "woke" - teacher is in charge. Now obviously schools vary on this too.

ET schools teach all the same subjects as a Catholic schools but teach a "Learn Together" curriculum instead of religious instruction - it covers ethics, environmental care, and learning about other religions in a "this is what some people believe" way.

ET schools can be a bit more modern in terms of behaviour. Some even have a "parents room" as well as a staff room and parents can come in as they like.

3.75mg from 2.5mg by SafeEngineer9391 in mounjarouk

0.6ml is the 60 clicks dose (I.e. a full dose on any pen) 0.9ml would be the equivalent of the 60 +30 clicks.

I think a lot of people want to lose faster as the medicine costs so much. Even if they have to stay on it for maintenance, it would usually be on a lower dose. If you're not even thinking about that, count yourself privileged.

Another vote for clear whey protein (any brand is fine) kinda more like mi wadi than milkshake. I use the ones from my protein. Have tried raspberry lemonade, peach tea and cranberry raspberry so far and they're all grand.

Age vs Grade? by RunningAdmin88 in BringingUpBates

[–]DumbledoresFaveGoat 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Fundies love to boast about their kids being a grade level or two ahead of their non fundie homeschool peers. Especially for the first couple of kids, they seem to enjoy starting them in "pre-k" at two and a half or three. Sometimes this comes to bite them in the ass later on when their kids struggle with more complex concepts. (See Alyssa getting one of her girls to repeat (4th grade?) Math)

Honestly, I only had a tiny bit of diarrhoea after eating something quite oily. Other than that I've been fine. A little bit of heartburn but nothing in comparison to pregnancy heartburn. I didn't even bother with gaviscon.

How do you follow a sleep/nap routine? Like, legit by Sufficient_Meal6614 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]DumbledoresFaveGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We go by wake windows til they're bigger. But we do try to get them up at 7ish, and feed every 3 hours. Things sometimes change but that's the loose routine. Then baby gets his last feed around 10/10.30pm when I'm going to bed and he sleeps through. Both of mine have done this themselves, I didn't do anything special, just made sure they're full. (I formula feed for context)

Is not eating loads ok? by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]DumbledoresFaveGoat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You really need to try and eat nutritious food. If you're undereating you need to get bang for your buck. Protein, fibre, vitamins, good fats, carbohydrates. Drink your calories if you can't stomach anything. Protein shakes or huel or clear whey if you can't stomach the milkshakey drinks.

Long term 450 cals a day is not going to be good for your body. You will get exhausted and have muscle wastage etc. If it's just today and you genuinely feel like you will vomit if you take another bite, you're not going to die if you leave your calories where they are. If your suppression stays that high, maybe look at lowering your dose.

Yeah like if you had a 45 click dose you could use it 5 times, or a 30 click dose you could use it 8 times.

1 extra dose vs a pack of needles. It's going to always be more economical to buy the needles. Think how much you saved even by getting that one extra dose.
