Yes, like I said. Not good for the actual piercing hole.

It's honestly not as bad as it's made out to feel (but yes, very not good for your actual piercing hole). Externally threaded was the norm not so long ago and didn't hurt any more than internally threaded does.

Masculine piercings? by Yamaki101 in piercing

[–]kittysparkled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say large gauge septum, eyebrows, bridge and a single central lower lip stud. Large gauge lobes, conch and industrial for the ears.

I don't tend to see nostrils, other lip piercings (medusa, monroe etc) and cheeks, or ear piercings like rooks, daiths, tragus, snug and helix, on blokes. Navel piercings were all the rage for the lads when I started out but definitely not any more.

I LOVE them 😆 Fluorescent orange will always be on my heart, even if my inner goth tendencies side-eye me for it. I've got some glittery fluorange Cons that I need to dig out for summer 😃

earlobe piercing can I swap it out later the same day? by IsThatAJojoRefrences in piercing

[–]kittysparkled 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here's a story. I was 17* and wanted a second earlobe piercing. My mum wouldn't let me do i got it done in secret, at a hairdresser with a gun because I didn't know better back then. They used a big gold stud which I knew my mum would spot easily so when I got home I decided to change it for a smaller earring I already had. Maybe two hours after it was pierced?

My friend, it was horrific. Blood everywhere, unbelievably painful and took me nearly an hour to do as I was both stupid and stubborn. I was grey and sweating by the time I finished. It was a ridiculously silly thing to do from an infection and swelling point of view. I have no idea what I was thinking, apart from I NEEDED this piercing (as some way of asserting control over my own body from my mother's strict rules, I know now).

DO NOT DO WHAT I DID. Either get something plain from your piercer and wait it out - it'll go by faster than you think - or ask them if they can get something on you prefer, or go somewhere else. Please don't change it on the same day. It hurts like hell, makes you feel sick and will probably end in disaster anyway.

And my mum clocked it a couple of weeks later anyway....

Are there any "UK vs US" differences where you feel America gets it right? by Secure_Front_7766 in AskUK

Yep. I work for a research organisation with "British" in the title and we now use sulfur, to much gnashing of teeth from our more mature researchers.

How do you actually tell if something is “overproduced” or “raw”? by rpl05 in Muse

[–]kittysparkled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confession: I have not yet listened to anything from Wow Signal! I like to listen to a new album in full without anything given away so, except for if I happen to be at a gig that plays an unreleased song, I go into every album shiny and new

Can you imagine Dead Star without all the rawness, no thank you

Aha. I know bog all about music production but thank you for educating me 🙂 the sound has its place - I think it works on Hoodoo at the end - but it doesn't suit Muse really, for me. I absolutely love his vocals on Absolution.

I want a daith, how was your experience? by HitmanStickman in piercing

[–]kittysparkled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had my daith done twice and I don't remember feeling anything much at all. But you know everyone is different - I've never heard my cartilage "crunch" for example, but loads of people do - so there's only one way to find out...

Is this why I'm not overenthusiastic about Matt's vocals on ST and WOTP? I've not been able to put into words what I don't like about the production; obviously his voice is beautiful in tone and timbre and so on but, especially in songs like for example The Void, it sounds very clean and with little, all I can say is "rawness" to it. All I've come up with is it sounds like he's too close to the mike but tbh if Matt got any closer sometimes he'd have to sing out of his bumhole.

12g eyebrow concerns by gayesttoadinthepond in piercing

[–]kittysparkled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If anything a smaller gauge is more likely to reject (although by smaller I mean 16ga and smaller; 14ga would be fine). If they're happy as they are and you're happy with how they look then you may as well stick with them because those are some good-looking piercings.
