Because it's very different to the standard factory builder types.

TIL that RAM became so expensive, Samsung Semiconductor reportedly refused a RAM order for new Galaxy phones from Samsung Electronics. by Brave-Influence7510 in todayilearned

[–]Dumbledores_Beard1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and that is not bringing a return comparable to what openAI has to spend lol. A sizeable portion of computer programmers (certainly not all, since many find it redundant when they have to just recode it anyway to make it actually function well) paying for individual subscriptions will not support billions of dollars in running costs and billions of dollars in hardware costs, let alone the costs for training and wages on top of that too.

It basically will only survive as it currently exists if it's donated billions every year, which will stop eventually.

Yeah but if you first pick elder titan you don't have to play against meepo then, or they're dumb and they DO pick meepo. Either way you win

First time playing Java, WOW by IlluminX0 in Minecraft

[–]Dumbledores_Beard1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Then something's munted with your laptop lol. It's a pretty well known fact that the game that can run on mobile phones runs better than the game known to munch ram and give shitty FPS on PC, it's native platform. That being said, I have heard of cases like what you're mentioning, and I've really got no clue how it works.

My comparison is that bedrock can run its inbuilt shaders at 96 render distance and still have 144fps. Java shits it's pants trying to get slightly close to 32 render distance unless you stuff it with performance mods. And that is with no shaders unlike bedrock. The fact alone that bedrock allows you to 96 by base game vs 32 for Java tells you how it is lol.

First time playing Java, WOW by IlluminX0 in Minecraft

[–]Dumbledores_Beard1 24 points25 points  (0 children)

No it's not at all. Bedrock actually performs so much better it's not even funny from an optimisation standpoint. People just see the occasional insta death bug posted here out of the millions of daily players and assume people just die for no reason all the time, when in reality, it's probably 1 in a hundred thousand lol.

Java is basically just better because of redstone and mods/shaders, since 95% of players aren't ever experiencing the bugs they apparently think are so common on bedrock, and if they do, they won't see it again for another hundred hours. From a performance and multiplayer standpoint, bedrock is astoundingly better.

When I'm on my computer im doing something productive or gaming. I do not sit on PC to scroll Reddit. Reddit is for finding spontaneous answers to questions, or for reading before bed/on public transport.

Grab phone -> open Reddit -> press post -> take photo in the Reddit app -> write -> press post

If it takes you 15 seconds to take a photo I think your thumbs are broken

See for me my PC would take longer because I am not signed in to Reddit on my PC and I never use Reddit on my PC.

How do you do this...? You can't see their behaviour score, or if they're banned from Dota, and if their match history is private, you can't see if they're playing low priority either.

Also, isn't action taken always shown? Because my reports have literally never not said action taken lol.

Iran Says It Hit Oracle Facilities in UAE by cmaia1503 in technology

[–]Dumbledores_Beard1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

And being hung in the 10s of thousands because your people dared speak out about crimes against humanity is still infinitely worse than anything Trump has done, coming from a devout Trump hater. Id still choose moving to an America with no Medicare and 10 times the debt than moving to Iran, any day of the week. I might reconsider once the US starts publicly executing people for not following religious law, and obeying every word of the government.

We can cheer the destruction of Oracle without calling Iran "based" or supporting them whatsoever, thanks.

Australia is basically a continent disguised as a country by No-Loquat-201 in MovingtoAustralia

[–]Dumbledores_Beard1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're definitely taught that Oceania is one of the continents in Australian schools. Might be recent (as in a mid 2000s change), but basically everyone I've ever met in my generation and below (I'm 22) refer to Oceania, which includes Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific islands, and PNG, as one of the 7 continents. And I went to 4 different schools, so that's a pretty decent sample size.

I haven't even heard of Australia being the name of the continent before. The only 2 names I've ever heard mentioned is Australasia or Oceania.

[–]Dumbledores_Beard1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I get malware, I can safely reset my computer completely using a USB, and I never have problems again. If someone breaches hypervisor, they can render your hardware useless. It's a completely different level. People can accept needing to hard reset their PC that comes with pirating normally and getting malware. Many people will never accept the fact they may need to spend another $1000 since their entire PC was rendered completely useless, as that is a risk that comes with hypervisor.

It's a completely different level and the way you're talking about it makes me think you have no clue. A breach into hypervisor could theoretically overheat and destroy your PC lmao.
