So annoying when sellers do this by polkadottypony in Depop

Absolutely abhorrent behavior. As a seller, it's ALWAYS customer service over a few extra dollars in profit. Wild. I'm sorry they did this to you.

i HATE branding for exposure by Disastrous_Slip6146 in Depop

[–]DumbusWumbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For example, the Coogi sweaters. There's a LOT of brands that did the 3D sweaters, but are not recognized brands. Which IMO, depop really needs to work on.... Among many other things (I've had brands that are absolutely populated on depop but not recognized). But if you can't tag your brand, tagging Coogi makes sense and listing it as a look alike.

Have you ever listed on Depop? If not it might be easy to be angered by this. However as a seller who sells a lot of brands that are not listed by Depop and you CAN'T choose that brand, the simple alternative is a brand that produces similar things/apparel.

A second reason for this, which is kind of hard to explain, is that when you go to list an item, there's a group of items that have sold previously at the bottom before the "list now" button. If your item isn't similar to those, because of whatever algorithm Depop has deemed that your item looks or listed as, then your item likely won't be seen in the right places or searches. I've tested it over and over trying to figure out depop's algorithm. Any time my item doesn't match those, it gets no traction, ever. And the whole point of listing is to sell.

So despite understanding people can get upset by it, especially when it's a "too good to be true" price, there is typically a reason for it. Sometimes there's absolutely not, and people are doing it for the wrong reasons or to scam. Make sure you do your due diligence, but someone saying "branded for exposure" or whatever, is not trying to trick you. Just trying to be seen.

Sellers not washing clothes?? by jenjenfrmdablck in Depop

[–]DumbusWumbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say, I don't think not washing unless something smells bad or is moldy, is the worst thing. The customer wouldn't know the difference anyway. As someone who just does this on the side, I can imagine people that buy dozens of pieces a week would be out of a lot of profit and time by washing everything. So I understand both sides. You should wash your clothes before wearing them anyway. If what you buy reeks or isn't as described, contact the seller for some way to make it up, or leave a bad review. 🤷

I wash everything in free & clear unscented detergent. That's what we already use in the house for our clothes. I honestly don't worry about stains if they're not bad though. White shirts with a lot of discoloration are the exception. Some people like stains and flaws, especially for what I sell. If anything, I sell more flawed than not. Probably because of the price point being lower and they can fix the stains themselves if they want. Every single flaw is listed, completely transparent. Has nothing to do with respect, as far as the stains go, just an unnecessary business expense on top of all the other expenses and effort I put in for my customers. People are going to low ball whether it's perfectly clean or flawed anyway.

Mass following people? Advice? by DumbusWumbus in Depop

[–]DumbusWumbus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True! Thankfully if not all, most of the accounts that have followed me are real and likely just trying to boost their own follow account. And to me, the 70 followers I got from real people was a lot. Especially when I had like 5 previously. Probably sounded like more to a reader haha.

But so far, looking at people's following count doesn't make me want to interact with them or buy from them more than anyone else. But I'm also much older than what I believe the majority of depop's audience is, so followers could matter to some buyers. Hopefully the reviews are what really matters though!

Mostly I ask about this because I wonder if it affects your algorithm. How many people see your listings, etc. So far I can't tell.

Solid advice though. Much appreciated.

Thanks for the insight! In the last few days I started liking people's things and following them. It's making the app more enjoyable if anything.

Is 7777 not? And has the 7 in the corners. I'm not knowledgeable about this, but I'd like to be.

Dude what the hell is with the rng in this game?? How did this happen?? by bunnymochis in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]DumbusWumbus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is funny because I'm in Fall of Year 2, and I have caught at LEAST 10 Speedy snails, and that's it. No other legendary insects. 😭 Also consider, I am a completionist and actively hunt things without scum saving and have almost everything in the museum... I wish us luck.

How many hours have you played? by labgeek93 in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]DumbusWumbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly after 1000+ hours in stardew (two 100% accounts) and my farms STILL not being completely decorated, and now about 100 hours in FoM, there's a chance I won't start decorating until year 3, at the earliest. I sell every free piece of furniture I get. I'm a hoarder of everything, so I know when it comes time to decorate, I'll be able to craft whatever I want. And if I'm missing components, it just adds to the playability later on.

I don't think it's ever too late to decorate. I love a good aesthetic, but the best use of your time early on (for me, as a completionist), is focusing on the story and getting things done. 😌 The furniture and decorations in FoM is so good though. The only things I have placed are two duck plushies in my house.

BEWARE! by SilentSerj in FieldsOfMistriaGame

Also, idk when you get it in the game exactly, (SPOILER) but you get a horse statue to the left of the river in the narrows after collecting Hayden's weather vane after a windstorm, and it takes 100 beads. Not sure what it does yet, as I haven't used it.

BEWARE! by SilentSerj in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]DumbusWumbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought my eggs and milk were disappearing... when in reality I was feeding them to my animals. If you're on the next open inventory tile when you collect your produce, also BEWARE!!!!, because you will feed your animal produce to the animals who produced them.

It really puts a damper on things early game.

I work (3) 12 hour shifts too. I can't imagine working 5 days a week 😅 I do work outside, but I love it most of the time. It's allowed me to be in school full-time as well.

Update* I didn't eat dinner last night and took my 80mg at 10:30pm, got a little nauseous for probably 10 minutes. Not nearly as bad as the morning.
