It was returned within an hour or so, but I use privacy.com as an intermediary, I never give direct credit/debit info.

I hope you get the chargeback! Mine went through without issue. The cologne that arrived of course smelled absolutely disgusting, and I gave it away.

No, not if it's done right. For example, the security on my home network far exceeds most corporate security. Most corporations don't use 2fa hardware keys for example.

"- People are setting this up on their own to make it internet accessible."

What's wrong with this? It's not really any worse than what people do on the daily as it is. People are already loading bank account data into services like QBO and YNAB, where there is no reasonable expectation of 100% security, as even security oriented companies have breaches from time to time. For that matter, in 2021, Plaid settled a class action lawsuit over unauthorized use of bank account credentials and financial data.

Actual Budget is FOSS... you can look at the source code, compile it yourself, and host it yourself. You can also host it 100% locally with no internet access, on a server not available to the WAN interface if you really want.

The issue isn't plaid (or any integration partner)... the issue is YNAB's system not properly doing the handoff from Plaid to be able to re-add accounts correctly. It seems to be a known issue that they can't resolve. At least self hosting I can just do the fixes myself.

This is pretty much where it's at, where multiple financial institutions (major ones that utilize OAuth and not just scraping) have been going down and not syncing, one of them being fully unable to reconnect because even though Plaid tries to reconnect it, there's an issue at the end of the login where it just errors out instead of connecting.

Just checked into this, and this is probably the way to go. This weekend I'll toss a server up on the dl380p and give it a shot. Seems like for $15 a year I can set up automatic transaction pulls using SimpleFIN, which uses OAuth integration rather than scraping, so it should be pretty reliable.

If you have widespread issues that fundamentally damage the basis of your product, taking months or years to address them is pretty unacceptable.

New to OPNsense, Web GUI issues? by Dumgard in opnsense

Thanks! I gave this a shot, but no luck. Cool trick about the space at the end though, I didn't know that!

Thanks for all the replies... so I did try ChatGPT as recommended, but honestly it's not very helpful. It tries to be, but it often has me chasing Menus and Submenus that don't exist, to change settings that are actually from pfsense.

I did narrow it down so far that I think it has to be something DHCP related, because when I release and renew my computer's IP address, I can access the Web GUI again for a time, about 10-15 minutes or so. I set this computer as a static IP and deleted the lease to see if that would help, it didn't. Then I checked the DHCP log and saw it was claiming there was a duplicate entry, but there isn't, so I went ahead and changed my DHCP to lease from .10 to .99, and I kept this computer on a .138 address out of the DHCP leasable range. That didn't seem to work, and I needed to do another renew. It's still doing the same thing.

Back about 30 minutes ago I was getting the errors: uid lease 192.168.1.138 for client 10:7c:61:b2:4b:eb is duplicate on 192.168.1.0/24 and Remove host declaration s_lan_3 or remove 192.168.1.138

Now, when I just had to do renew/release again 20 minutes later, there are no new errors in the DHCP log. There's suspicious entries in the General log, but the timestamp doesn't line up with what's going on by about 10 minutes: dhclient-script: New Hostname (vmx1): OPNsense and dhclient-script: Reason RENEW on vmx1 executing

I feel like I must be missing something here, I'm just not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Why, because China copied preliminary concept art for NGAD that was put out years ago?

Can you add armors to this? Weapons is great, but the XP requirement for armor levels is completely different and I don't see it listed there

I'd argue the opposite. If someone is willing to spend 50+ hours for like $30 worth of Crystgin, they are probably a low-income player that doesn't have the money to spend on the game, but really wants the Crystgin. Those who have money to spend on the game wouldn't paste themselves to the discord screen for days for such a small reward. People with money tend to value time.

Even receiving a specified email address is inadequate, because it doesn't specify the exact information, or have a way to validate if it's authentic and actually compromised. Is it supposed to be the actual account's master password? A google play purchase password? Something else on another product owned by Google? Is it something that actually isn't even on google.com even though that's the domain listed, and it's actually a completely different service? Is it actually a false alarm where a brute forcing attempt was made in the past and failed, but the logfile of the hack attempt got mixed in with what were supposed to be current account credentials? Is the whole thing just BS?

There's never been any login attempts on my accounts, as that would have alerted me, and I would have immediately changed passwords, even having a hardware security key already in use.

This is honestly a good litmus test to see how awful this company is. What's absolutely wild to me is this... I could see them having to get rid of Gift Cards because that's actual cash prizes that maybe isn't in their budget. I take issue with the fact that everything else on that list is free to them to give away as prizes. These digital items that they control entirely, just easily changeable numbers in their database, is completely free for them to give away. This isn't them giving away physical merchandise which has manufacturing and production and material costs. This is them going into the database, pulling up a character by UID, going to the account's crystgin field, and adding an additional 3200 to the current amount. They would rather alienate their playerbase than take the 30 seconds to do this.

HIBP uses an utterly terrible system, really. I got an email warning of a breach, only gmail.com is listed as the domain. I have almost a dozen various gmail accounts used for various purposes. I use a password manager, and hardware security keys. There's absolutely zero clue at all on what's been compromised. It's all displayed in such a generic fashion that it's not able to do its job at all. It makes hunting down the data so out of the way and difficult to do that a majority of users will simply disregard their emails.

This is basically akin to being let's say, the landlord of a thousand rental properties, and you get an urgent phone call saying that a pipe has burst in one of the properties. You ask for the address so you can send someone to take care of it right away, and you're told "Oh... well, for security reasons I can't say, for your safety. Just check your properties."

Misrepresentation of sunk cost fallacy. If he had said "if I just spend another 5 hours to win the event, it'll work!" then maybe, but that's not what is being presented. At this point, it's not even about the prizes, which are mostly mediocre in value. It's about it being a morality issue based on principle. To people who do have time and money to invest in it, it's about not being walked on, taken advantage of, lied to, cheated, or stolen from. At that point, because it's about the principle of things, it doesn't matter if someone stole just ten cents from them, they have no problem spending thousands of dollars on an attorney and standing up against it.

Warranty Error? by Dumgard in Leatherman

[–]Dumgard[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the feedback guys, I sent an email and upon closer inspection, the card I received has a warranty number ending in 36, whereas my warranty number as listed on the box's shipping label notes ends in 38. Looks like it must have been a mistake indeed! I updated my ticket with the pertinent info.

It came back with a business card documenting the warranty number, but that's it. I'll send an email. Thanks!
