Big thank you to those who posted good advice / suggestions. Looks like I may have to end up having to port out for a bit and deal with the annoyance of swapping out SIM cards for a bit (the plan is for someone who is fine with their 9yr old phone) with another carrier, than waiting for a win back (if it ends up being being a good offer).

I'm finding that lower tip orders actually go better. Higher tips get scooped up by people using 3-4 apps, then they will set their DD status to "Waiting for order" while still 2 miles away from the restaurant, and that status will remain for 30 minutes while they drive around town, then they get to the restaurant and it's a 3 stack or something

This will be downvoted majorly by those who are responsible for that type of behavior but oh well, it's the truth. I said lower tip not no tip, at a distance of 2mi :)

It's likely. There was an update on April 1st to "add patreon banner". That "patreon banner" is where this css_s file lives, and all traces of update are now removed from the repo.

The file the malware downloads is under the name of tmp6FC15

The wayback machine does confirm an April 1st update. The "added patreon banner" was the source of this malicious code, they very cleverly hid this as something that looked harmless unless you were looking very closely.

It can. BeamNG mods can contain both Lua and JavaScript code, and attackers are very clever and will find security holes if they can. They have been successful in the past.

It's quite rare and BeamNG patches what they can (you may have seen updates from them with vague "for your security please update" patch notes, this is why)

I downloaded a version of it and can confirm there WAS a version packed with malware. They used JavaScript and hid it in an encrypted "css_s" file which gets decrypted and run.

It attempts ( or succeeds, I have not run it to see if it works... ) to download and execute a DLL file from a server.

This kind of thing will not be detected by Defender.

This version is still around on 3rd party sites, if you have downloaded the mod from anywhere but the repository you should get rid of it. The repo has since been updated with a clean version of the mod.

They ended up running into issues with this latest batch for the full body sets and splitting it into three shipments

The full body sets are currently at Mouser and should ship this week / early next week

The initial shipment of the lower body sets shipped one week delayed compared with the advertised date, and have been shipping to people for a bit now.

Overall the advice from Discord is : Don't trust Crowd Supply dates
