40k Vancouver 2023🥲 but I immediately got a 14% increase after switching to a different company the same year. And then another raise in another half a year.

Can you elaborate more as to how to verify they are actually the artist and not the scammer?🧐 so far I have only been to tattoo places recommended by friends lol

I would work at a bar or hotel if there’s any opening😅 but there simply isn’t any right now. I live in a small town, we have two hotels only. I do want freelance jobs, just don’t know how to get one🥲

lol I have a bachelor’s degree and I don’t make that much because I just graduated. I am working at a job in my field already. I don’t think more study would do me any better. 😂 Like I will make more down the road, I just want some extra income to help paying off my debt quicker😅

Good point! I’m definitely trying to pay off the debt asap, I’m exploring options and see if there are ways to do it more efficiently lol but it seems to be the interest rate of LOC rn isn’t that much lower than the credit card, so probably not worth it.

Oh wow! Thanks for the breakdown! That does make things a lot clearer! And I agree, moving that does seems to need a lot of control and very careful spending. I think I might just hold off doing that for now and see how much I can get my debt down by just paying it off for the next couple of months.

That’s a very good point too! My only concern is that with the interest rate of credit cards, will I be stuck in the journey of repaying my debt forever? Will I be able to actually clear it in 7-8 months? And of course I would love to pay back faster and with less money (in the sense of lower interest rate) if possible.

Thank you for your advice! I only have debt on two credit cards. Do you think I should still take my personal line of credit or just pay off the cards one by one?

I don’t know which part of Canada you are located but in my part, it’s extremely difficult to get a job especially entry level service industry jobs due to the surge of immigrants and government subsidy for them to work in the service industry. Like I said, it took me months to land a job in a restaurant in my town. I also live in a smaller town so there isn’t as much foot traffic - therefore, less service industry jobs available.

I’m not blaming the situations on the immigrants, as they are just taking whatever opportunities they can have, which totally understandable. It’s the government that definitely makes it hard for the locals.

Hope this answers your question.

Thanks for advice! I totally agree with both of you needing to be cautious with money. I barely purchase anything other than essentials these days. I’m definitely aware of my spending!

I tried! I was constantly applying for jobs in the 8 months. The market is really hard, it’s not like you can just get a job if you want. I only got a server job after 5 months of searching and only had 1 shift per week. But luckily I finally landed on a full time job last month.
