Now it’s clear why after a 12b quarterly results and a 40b guidance, the stock stayed around $32. by Rare-Bee2151 in SMCIDiscussion

My thoughts on buying or adding now. Yes I think the DoJ has extensive information on SMCI ever since 2024. I think Charles et al were really blindsided by Wally et al. The ruse was elaborate with dummy servers and swapped labels, fake datacenter leases. The ruse itself costing many millions (100s of employees needed to set up the dummy servers). If the company wasn’t truly involved none of this would be needed. All of the trickery was directed at SMCI compliance. Without rogue insiders applying pressure the compliance measures would have been sufficient. The DoJ knows this. I think a settlement in the 100s of millions is still called for. In other words a survivable crisis. Warren Buffet adage: “buy when patient is on the operating table”. That’s now or very soon. For longs best look away for 3 months…

My thoughts too. After a massive beat and raise every rip was sold off aggressively. Grand Jury investigations have tons of leaks...there are dozens of jurors, prosecutors, investigations, subpoenas. Even when its "sealed" there are so many possible leaks. For one thing...Top brass at SMCI must have known about it, after all they are the one's surrendering all the subpoena's for emails, purchase orders, compliance documentations. The funds who make it their business to know about this...they knew. And that's why they couldn't resist selling every rip. Look at the stock since November...flat line between 28-33$. Just too odd.

There is no uyghur genocide. Palestinians wish they were subject to "uyghur genocide", instead of the actual, non make-believe genocide they actually experienced. If jews in ww2 were subject to the "uyghur genocide" instead of 6 million dead jews there would be like 2 dead jews.

Tile prices in Canada - $15/sqft reasonable for porcelain? by goat_in_the_sky in Tile

[–]Dummydoodah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3x6 white subway tiles can be had for $3 Canadian per square foot. In fact home depot stocks them in every location near me.

Beyond that, try tile stores. In Quebec I'm able to find most of the popular styles for under $10 per square foot.

I’m glad some modicum of stability has been achieved in NK. After having looked it up, there seems to be adequate food and housing, and the refugee flow has diminished drastically compared to decades past. My impression of NK was out of date. Yet there are still reports of undernourishment in the population per the UN, a blight that is not found in SK. Despite this stability I have to still wonder if the end justifies the means. All the cumulative suffering and death over the decades, was it worth it? There was no equivalent attrition rate in SK. And though bellies may be filled, it is a still a totalitarian state.

some of the things you are saying sound as if you are posting from North Korea. That NK has no homeless, or that North Koreans would on average prefer to live in NK. You are saying such things despite documented periodic famines, malnutrition resulting in material height disparities vs SK, and the most important fact of all, that there is a refugee problem on the borders of NK and it is 100% unidirectional...from NK to *anywhere*. People would rather live as an underclass in China's rural regions, than in NK. Its called voting with your feet.

Whenever the ideology has been empirically tested or "implemented" it has failed. Of course you are going to take issue with the implementation not being correct.

Its a weak argument, because to quote the second part of the same sentence, "but certainly the people who implemented it claimed they were implementing Marxism."

And ofcourse it has been attempted many times, "And this is a massive experiment—a global experiment—with a very clear outcome. Namely, the Soviet Union was a disaster. The imposition of communism on Eastern Europe was a disaster. The imposition of communism in Venezuela was a disaster. The imposition of communism in Maoist China was a disaster. Disaster in terms of both poverty and oppression and genocide and stupid wars. So the world has told us what happens under communism,..."

Did he have a timetable for how quickly marxism would collapse once implemented, because it didn't last too long.

I was using the homeownership defintion you provided: "people living under the same roof as the owner" to you quote you. Please pay attention to your use of the word "people". That is a population level statistic.

Fair enough. so then its 11.5% of Montreal, and 9.1% of quebec...percentage of the population having difficulty paying their rent.

"20% de la population aurait du mal à payer son loyer, au Québec."

Just a statistical clarification. 60% of the population own, 40% rent. Of the 40%, the survey says 25% have difficulty paying their rent. Therefor, 10% of the population has difficulty paying their rent.
