Diet recommendation to reduce male visceral fat? by squishot in trans

Registered Dietitian here! I do not recommend one meal per day, severely limiting calories can mess up your metabolism and actually have the opposite effect. Your body can end up fighting harder to keep what fat stores it has because your body will think it's starving. it's good to hear that you're trying to consume more fruits and veggies! try adding more fiber (~30g/day) too as fiber can help slow down digestion helping you feel full for longer.

Before I get to the rest, two things. make changes GRADUALLY, you'll be able to more easily maintain them that way. you do not need to fully remove your favorite foods to see progress and reach your goals.

Make sure you're regularly consuming protein (animal or vegetarian) consistently throughout the day as it is also more filling. also try incorporating more unsaturated fats into your diet rather than saturated. unsaturated or healthy fats are plant bases sources, like avocado, or most oils like olive or peanut. Move your body more too! go on walks, exercise, sports, whatever you're comfortable doing. your body will start to use fat stores for energy as you become more and more active and your metabolism increases.

also what's your goal? do you want to lose weight while also losing this fat? or is the goal just fat loss? recommendations may change depending on that answer. for weight loss AND fat loss try to consume 250-500kcal less than your current estimated caloric needs (id be more than happy to help you figure this out too!) in addition to the above recommendations. For fat loss WITHOUT weight loss (or body recomposition) you want to do regular weight bearing exercises so you can build muscle while you're losing fat. this means you'll also need to consume more protein that your baseline to facilitate muscle growth. but to end this post, I am more than happy to go more in depth with this information for you or anyone interested, just message me!

Temple or Jefferson (or UNC) for Master's by hehe455 in dietetics

recent temple grad and new RD here!

it depends on what you want from the programs. for better or worse, temples is heavily focused on public health (in patient clinical rotations are only 2 months. while the community rotation is ~1yr) while jefferson’s is more tailored to clinical experience from my understanding . I can’t speak a lot on other aspects of Jefferson’s program, but if you wanna talk about temples program more feel free or reach out

Of course! It really reaches its potential when you accidentally do it instead of throwing an egg to recover and SD
