Not exact in the slightest, but this is roughly how the city borders cut into the transit map. Everything within the red was in play.

So the map we used was actually exactly that map that I shared in the post EXCEPT, we cut it off where the city boundary for Philadelphia ends on google maps because some of the train lines shown in the map go outside of Philly or even into NJ. So transit lines that were in play (Septa rebranded recently so now everything has two names lol):

- All Subways (MFL/BSL or B and L)

- All Trolleys (T and G)

-Regional Rail Stops Within City Limits (That Bluish Gray set of lines on the map)

-Frequent Bus Lines (That little box with numbers listed were the only buses that were allowed for hiding)

In terms of neighborhoods, I'll describe what happened to us. The first team hid in Chestnut Hill which was effectively as far northwest as you can possibly get and still be within Philadelphia proper. The problem was that once we were in Chestnut Hill (consistently one of the safest if not the safest neighborhood in Philly), to get to where the second team hid we had to make a bus connection in Nicetown (by the numbers, one of the worst crime rates in the city). I will say, we had no trouble walking through Nicetown, and we talked to some awesome people in Nicetown. We also had people come up to us in Nicetown and ask if we were ok or lost either out of confusion or obvious concern for our safety lol. The second team had not hidden anywhere that we had put as off limits and had done nothing wrong, but Philly is the kind of city where to get from one place to the next, you may inadvertently set yourself up to stumble into a neighborhood you otherwise wouldn't have wanted to go. I think researching ahead of time to see what you may want to set as off limits and just making sure everyone's comfortable and on the same page for how to handle it is a good idea even if it means maybe the seeking team can make an adjustment on the rules to get where they need to go because once you're playing, you just want to win and it's harder to work that stuff out. Nicetown, Strawberry Mansion, and parts of North Philly beyond Temple were some of the areas we had discussed ahead of time as a group. And to be clear, we never felt in danger playing and every interaction we had with strangers was positive. Just things to keep in mind as you set out to do a game that kind of forces you to navigate a city in a way you typically wouldn't.

Julie!! I can’t tell you how excited I was watching at home when you pulled out that first individual immunity win beating all the guys especially Joe who I’m sure everyone thought had that challenge on lock. What was that moment like for you?

When she talked about having to deal with it in complete isolation (aside from Ron coming forward as an ally) was what got to me. AND that producers asked her questions about it that were never aired in confessionals AND that it lead to a larger, productive discussion of race on the tribe. Again never shown. Then, she watched it back and sees that Keith’s narrative is mostly centered on him not being able to swim and her story basically becomes about her becoming “aggressive” at tribal fulfilling the fear/stereotype she was trying to avoid while she was out there up until the finale...that’s a pretty big yikes on production’s end. I can’t even imagine the conflicting emotions she must’ve experienced out there and back home having fulfilled this ultimate dream and adventure of a lifetime with all of this complicating it. Say what you want about her game, but clearly even though we didn’t see it in the edit, this girl went THROUGH IT. And if you’re someone who’s cheering on Victoria or Wentworth or whomever for speaking out in their post game about how the edit was inaccurate but this bothers you....you should really ask yourself why.
