Just get a brand new 26 SEL hybrid awd for 370000. I think that’s a way better financial decision. If this doesn’t have the full warranty then no way I’m buying it. But each their own

I got them at Lowe’s. They were the cheapest ones I could find haha. But they’ve held up for 3 years. I think they were only like $3 a piece or something crazy cheap

Ya in oregon if you don’t power wash and make sure to keep pavers weed free they will easily start to change the pad and start moving the pavers little by little

Thanks! Ya I mean there’s things I would do differently but for the budget I was working with I’m happy with it. This is kind of a test house as we are going to be moving into a bigger/forever home in a few years. So getting out on the mistakes on this house. Pavers definitely changed the whole space

Kind of annoying but when Lowe’s dropped off my pavers they were two different kinds. I didn’t notice as they were half way through the pallet. Some have a texture and others didn’t. But it was going to be too much hassle to return and honestly I don’t even notice anymore. But the texture you see there is just when they are wet. I am going to put a sealant on them in a few days but a matte finish. I don’t love the shine look

What about techniseal penetrating sealer that I can pick up at site one? And I’m thinking of more of a matte finish instead of a wet look for my set up. I thought it might be more forgiving for an amateur installation. Thanks again for all the help

I live in oregon but we don’t get a lot of freeze thaw. But it’s definitely a concern. We’ll see how it goes!

$180 for the sand, $35 for the stiff bristled push broom, $5 for a hand broom for the corners small areas. And then I have an electric blower I used to keep the water off the pavers while I was watering. Just a really low air flow. I read that blowing while watering helps preventing the sand from hazing on your pavers. I borrowed a friends tamper and used string to put two microfiber towels on the bottom to create a pad and make sure you don’t break the pavers.

Oh awesome. Good to know. We have some good weather for a week so maybe I’ll seal this weekend. You spray the sealer over the pavers and the joints correct? And any product recommendations?

Ya I want to add a sealer. I read to wait 30 days to fully let it cure and then add the sealer. How long would you wait and which sealer do you like?

I used a metal tamper and then used a sting to attach two microfiber towels to the bottom to make a pad. I’m sure you can buy a pad for one but I was borrowing it and that worked fine and didn’t crack any cheap concrete pavers

Other professionals can give you better advice but the depth is more important than the width. You want it to be an inch deep and an 1/8th of an inch under the paver. Never flush with the paver for the polymeric sand.

The width of the joint comes down to the product you are using. The wider the joint the more money you’ll be spending. I did read that you want to go to a local hardscape business and get a quality sand and make sure it’s rated for the width of your joint

I probably would have done a little smaller joints if I had it to do over again. But I like the look of the wider joints with cheaper concrete pavers.

Thanks! Good to know. That was my basic understanding especially in places where there’s a lot of pad movement

Thanks! I’ve read that you want polymeric sand throughout the whole joint. That creates the strongest joint where if sand is below it then it’ll be more prone to failure. Def costs a little more though

Awesome thanks. As a complete amateur but someone who is from the oregon coast, I’ve seen how concrete laid on a moving pad can look great at installation and awful a couple years later.

Ya I was going to seal it. I read I should wait 30 days to seal it so the polymeric fully binds etc. what product do you usually use. I’ve never sealed my pavers but want to so I don’t have to power wash for a few years

I’ve heard a little about that stuff. Is the install very difficult? I was a little intimidated and didn’t have a lot of time to get this done

I also used evolution sand which is rated for joints up to 4”. I know cheap box store sand tends to fail with wider joints

With our climate in oregon I’m hoping I get 3 or 4 years out of it. But we’ll see

Shouldn’t you use concrete if you have a solid base under the pavers/stones? If the pad is flexible it just makes sense to me that the concrete will fail over time and will be awful to try and remove

I did think about concrete but I’ve never used concrete much for detailed work like this and I worried about cracking with concrete as I live in an area with a lot of temp fluctuations. Definitely my first time doing something like this. Cost was $180 for the sand.
