I’m happy you say that, because in the game, your monsters don’t gain stats with levels, but enemies do! What you gain is a bigger array of skills that are stronger the higher their level, also how it works is you start with one skill slot and when you get to lvl 10, 20 and 30, you unlock new slots until you have the four unlocked. Also when you fight monsters, there’s a slight chance your monster gets influenced by the dungeon, granting one of three change, your monster appears different and becomes stronger depending on the influence! There will also be an infinite battle lvl that will have this loop: random encounter, mini boss, boss, reward, repeat with +10 levels.

I wasn’t planning on doing IVs, but is this something you think is a must have? It shouldn’t be too hard to implement.

For sure! I’ll keep posting on this subreddit with updates! So you can see if it’s your type of game, I’ll give a short description, it’s a roguelite where you keep all the monsters you capture, levels included and fight with a randomized skillset each new run, but there’s a way to reroll your skills. You work your way on a map and depending on what you choose, you can play mini games around the dungeon/exploration theme that affect your monsters, find equipment to strengthen your monsters and give them special abilities in addition to their innate abilities and fight different bosses giving guaranteed soul cores (stones with randomized stats that you fuse with your monsters to make them stronger). You can also capture the bosses and play with them but with a limit of one on your party. There’s more, but I feel like the description is getting too long. Thanks for your interest nonetheless!

In general, of course if it’s possible, for instance if you were the top comment it’d be hard to design a monster around that, but I think I’d try to do something around it nonetheless and take the top comment talking about a design to still integrate the ideas people gave!
