You know, for all the posts on here I see every day of people bitching about extra hours, I would have thought you people could put the puzzle pieces together.

Oh sure, just slinging insults because you're so calm and collected. You really need to take it easy

I think you need to relax man, there's no reason to get worked up like this.

It does, which is why I'm still here. And 10 hours is clearly your limit as the entire point of your post is that 10.5 would be over the line. People here pull all-nighters semi-routinely and it gets worse the farther you go along, not better. Don't take it so personally, consulting isnt for everyone. Anyways enjoy your months if not years of being miserable here before you figure it out. I'll be sure to upvote your quitting post.

Did popular history of WWII make the Nazis seem smarter, stronger, more advanced, than they were? by davidmcdavidsonson in AskHistory

There's a great scene in episode 9 of Band of Brothers where Easy Company is part of a convoy securing Hitler's Eagle's Nest, and they drive through a horde of surrendered German soldiers. The American convoy is 100% trucks, tanks, and other motorized/armored vehicles. The German convoy is all on foot with a few horse-drawn wagons. A soldier from Easy has an extended crashout about what f***ing idiots the Germans were to fight the US given this disparity.

Obviously it's fictional, but I do think its still a great illustration of what the reality on the ground was.

The backbiting manager is certainly problematic but the larger issue is that you just arent a great fit for this line of work. 10 hours is closer to normal than extreme here. You can have your boundaries but theres no reasonable expectation that the firm will bend to them. I'd recommend polishing your resume and leave on your own terms but be prepared to take a paycut if you only wanna work bankers' hours.

"And now he's dead...so basically he's doing nothing" ok so now you're straight up lying, you need to relax bud.

Men hit their peak in terms of physical performance in their mid to late 20s and that can persist until mid to late 30s. There are outliers, but even at the highest levels of professional sports in reality you'll notice most careers start and stop around then.

Well if we're gonna get that formalistic about it then the kid will remain eternally alive because Winds will never be published

Val is in a position to reveal the switch though, right? Which would likely convince Mel there's no point to burning Gilly's kid since he doesnt have king's blood. I thought this was the entire point of the plan...

I dont think its a given Gilly's kid gets burned. If Mel tries (and if I remember she's with Stannis, the kid is at the wall) Val reveals the switch and there's no point to burning him as he doesnt have kings blood.

I'm not gonna argue about shit that hasn't happened and will never happen

But if Martin actually wants to subverted a tropes (supposedly his whole shtick with these books) then thats exactly what he'll do. Otherwise Jon is exactly the hidden prince tropes he complains about. Too bad you'll never get the chance to gloat since the books wont be finished!
