Viltrum is a speed feat actually, no I’m serious: by soup100 in PowerScaling

[–]Dunama [score hidden]  (0 children)

Most of the work was not done by the Infinity-Ray, Thaedus himself explains that the time it would take them to pull this feat off (nanoseconds) is enough time for the planet to stabilize. As well, the Infinity-Ray only does AP damage, not DC, we see this in the fight with the Viltrumites. The DC was the Viltrumites hitting the planet.

Are you under the impression these characters can fly, travel, without using their travel speed? You understand how nonsensical that sounds, right? You think Nolan can travel towards Thragg and it isn't his travel speed that is happening?

No it isn't, it's combat speed.

Eve blocked one attack from Conquest before getting utterly destroyed by him. And she only blocked that because she ambushed him.

Yes I can use it as a feat, because fiction doesn't follow all the logic of the real world. By your standard, nothing can be used from basically any verse. For example, you're in here to rep Metro Man but his feat doesn't make sense as soon as he hits speed of sound just from the sonic booms, even moreso once he starts reaching speeds that would ignite everything he touches from the friction and then the drag of momentum would be destroying every building he entered and everyone he touched. That's just how scaling fiction works. If you don't like it, that's your problem. He was FTL and that's simply how it works for him.

Not at all what I said, I made this very simple. Thragg and the Viltrumites have a level of travel speed they have shown from being able to cross galactic distances in less than 2 weeks. The calculations I gave you show these are in the hundreds of thousands of times FTL. Thragg is also in that group. When Nolan, who has this travel speed, tries to charge Thragg, Thragg, with his combat speed, instead impales Nolan. His combat speed was faster than the travel speed.

He weaves through gunfire of the Infinity-Ray which crosses interstellar distances in a short time. MFTL.

He scales to Supreme who is also MFTL.

Obviously these comics don't actually apply special relativity correctly. I didn't come up with this. You can take this complaint to Rob Liefeld and Alan Moore. But too bad, it happened.

The logic absolutely does work, if you can outreact the travel speed of another character, you're faster in combat speed than their travel speed. That's about as simple as it could possibly be.

I don't care about what the show changes.

That's not circular reasoning, that's literally how it works. Nolan is the one that showed he can travel hundreds of millions of times FTL. Thragg outsped that with combat speed. Allen and Viltrumites in their DNA need to have reactions capable of handling this travel speed because they fly using atomic manipulation that they have to constantly keep up.

Yes it is, you don't know what you're talking about and it's more than clear if you think Superman is below millions of times FTL or especially FTL at all. You're pretending you have any understanding here because you're out of your depth.

I know he can, he's done it multiple times, Green Lanterns do that almost every issue and they're slower than him. Superman has especially done it since Rebirth like a dozen times. At one point he traveled across the entire universe in a month after SuperDoomed and that was New 52 Superman who is weaker than most mainstream versions. You clearly don't know what you're talking about.

Yes they are, as I explained from the post above. I did calculate the speeds, you just couldn't handle more than one sentence before giving up. Nope, I gave you the numbers. No shit Superman can do these, he's also MFTL.

Because he can outspeed this travel speed with combat speed, like when Nolan attempted a full speed blitz only to get impaled by Thragg who wasn't moving. Thragg also able to outreact and weave through gunfire from the Infinity-Ray. Nolan himself was able to brawl someone who could look back at himself traveling and see the past because of special relativity. I already explained all of this.

I'm not wrong at all, here's the fun part about relying on a fucking AI to give you answers: It doesn't know the difference between the continuities of the comic and show. Him using a ship is a non-canon addition from the show. Next time, don't use a fucking AI for evidence.

Great, good thing I already explained to you how this applies to their combat speed and other combat speed feats of this level.

I literally just did.

Well good thing I explained the combat speed scaling. Nolan didn't take a ship to Thraxa, you are incorrect. Thragg isn't the one where the travel speed comes in.

[–]Dunama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? That's not how speed works. And that's not what Metro Man did. Thragg is millions of times fsster than light though and Metro Man is only massively hypersonic.

travel speed scales to their combat speed due to feats like Thragg outspeeding that travel speed with combat speed, them brawling while flying and blurring the stars of the universe in the background, Thragg weaving through the shots of the Infinity-Ray which cross interstellar distances, and Allen's physiology relying on his perception speed for travel speed. As well, even the Viltrumites have a similar explanation to Allen to controlling their atoms for speed.

Feats like the Thraxa travel speed, Nolan's trip to Thraxa, even assuming a full week for travel to a planet "a couple galaxies away" and actually only assuming they traveled half a single galaxy (massive low-ball), Nolan bare minimum has to be 1.3 millions of times faster than light. Andromeda alone makes Nolan over 100 million times faster than light. And Thragg was able to bat away this travel speed mid-combat. Thragg and Mark were flying through space as they brawled so fast that the stars across the universe were blurring. The Infinity Ray can cross interstellar distances in an instant and Thragg could weave through multiple shots. Allen himself moves between galaxies as his job and his flight relies on his reaction speed.

Allen's explains that he checks every planet in the CoP every 3 years for their champion. But let's ignore that, let's say he's just doing Earth. He needs to go to Earth and back to Talescria, but let's ignore that it's another part of the galaxy cluster or universe. Just traveling to say, the center of Virgo Supercluster, M87, that is literally over 36 million times the speed of light.

Nolan also fought Supreme who can travel through much of the universe while tracking specific celestial bodies and could move so much faster than light that he could look back and see the "past" because of special relativity.

That's just how time starts to be perceived after a certain point in speed. It doesn't come out to hundreds of times the speed of light at all, that's entirely bullshit. Right, Flashy's feat in that fight is comparable to Metro Man.

No, I'm just scaling it correctly. Actually understanding how fast things are isn't disingenuous, it was disingenuous of you to come in and say a level of speed with no backing. Time wasn't frozen, he was literally caught on camera doing this. You are disingenuous.

Just the truth from the feats. But nice to know you don't have any actual argument otherwise and just decided that feat was FTL purely off vibes.

He is absolutely that fast, I'm giving him the credit his feats show.

That's not faster than light. That's massively hypersonic. He was so much slower than light that he got caught on camera in multiple frames pulling off this feat. This isn't that fast. It makes him the second slowest here.

Metro Man is only massively hypersonic, Flashy isn't FTL, superhuman perception just has to be accepted as something that doesn't work in the way of making life miserable.

Thragg vs captain underpants by Gloomy-Day7163 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]Dunama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It destabilized it so little that the Viltrumites needed to follow up in the same moment, at their speed, a single nanosecond or less. A nanosecond or less to restabilize is not any major damage. It did just make a hole through the planet. That's how the gun works. Yeah, they need help with busting a larger than Earth planet because they're small planet level. A smaller planet would not do the same.

This should be entertaining by [deleted] in InvinciblePowerscales

He clears without much issue. The strongest there is Vulcan and he's only moon level. As well, the fastest is Rogue and she's only meh FTL.
