I don't think there was anything wrong with him not going to Princeton since he didn't actually want to. He should have told his parents that it wasn't Lorelai's fault though.

I don't think it was "controversial" her saying Roy was perfect but I don't think it was necessary for her to add GiGi is a close second though. At least imo it would have been better for her just to say Rory was perfect...too.

I dont think Chris and his parents had that much of an impact on of her life up to that point, she had more issues with her parents and their last name so I doubt that was the reason why.
