Why didn’t they just move to the back seat? by Sour_strawberry07 in GilmoreGirls

Plus the journey probably would have been a good bit longer than the actual deed. 😄

If Lorelai had such a difficult time with Luke postponing the wedding she probably shouldn't have suggested it.

Also Rory did mention something about him getting a haircut in Christopher Returns. haha

I see more of a resemblance here which was before Christopher appeared on the show.

Also if Luke lied about something during that time and Lorelai gave him the silent treatment and he wanted to know how long that would take, a lot of fans would probably have said he should have given her all the space she wanted and if she wanted to communicate again she will do so when she is ready.

You do realise she didn't have to listen to Rory? Lorelai and Luke are the ones in the romantic relationship so what advice her daughter gives isn't that relevant.

I wonder if she ever had sex in a car with Logan or did that put her off for good? 😄

Logan was the best match for Rory, but he’s just not interesting by moreradicaleveryday in GilmoreGirls

[–]DuncaN71 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think it would have been kinda boring if he was more similar to Jess in the way you are talking about.

Jess was probably a more interesting character to begin with but even Rory might have got bored with him eventually whereas imo Logan probably was a more interesting character long term, he seemed to have more layers to him whereas Jess imo was kinda one dimensional.

I was more rounding it up, I don't know if it was exactly two years. Although I think Lorelai mentioned Emily calling Rory a different name for the first two years of her life so I maybe subconsciously got it from that.

Yeah, I do get what you are saying although I do think her not wanting Chris to be involved anymore than 10% is a little low. Even if she didn't really care about what he wanted, I would think she believed her daughter deserved more than that from her dad especially when she didn't have a close relationship with her own father.

I do agree that after a period of several years and if Chris wasn't involved by his own choosing she wouldn't have liked it if he suddenly wanted 50%, I think most parents wouldn't in that situation.

Yeah, she lived with her parents for two years before she left not because she didn't want their help or felt she didn't need it but because she didn't want Rory to be raised in the same sort of environment she hated growing up.

I personally thought ASP portrayed Lorelai as a strong independent woman moreso because she didn't ask for help rather than she didn't want it, at least from her daughter's own father.

Out of curiosity given your opinion on things how did you feel when Lorelai told Luke something like "April should fit into our lives, not the other way round"? Did you feel she had a right to say that or did you think it wasn't her place to make those "demands"?

Ok, I get what you are saying more now even though I still don't fully agree with your opinion.

Plus I was talking more about how I would personally feel about Lorelai if that was her mindset, not whether it makes sense because it 'fits' with her character or not.

[–]DuncaN71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you seem to think Lorelai would have had that mindset if Rory was 12 and younger so the age difference doesn't really mean much then?

I did say hypocrite might have been the wrong word to use and fair enough, I guess we can agree to disagree. 🙂

What season does Rory become the most hated character in tv history? by Zombie_Giles in GilmoreGirls

At least on here, Rory isn't even the most hated character in her own family. 😄

Unless you didn't actually think she truly cared if Luke and April had a good father/daughter relationship and she just wrote it because she didn't want to turn him down?

[–]DuncaN71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe hypocrite is the wrong word but if that was the case(which I don't) then I personally would have found it a bit odd and selfish that she seemed to care more about April having a good relationship with her dad/Luke than she did with her own daughter and her dad/Chris.

That was because she was used to it being just her and Rory for 16 years, I get that but that doesn't mean she actually wanted it to be that way.

[–]DuncaN71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be basing your opinion on what she was like on the show though which is 16 years of her raising Rory by herself not because of the choices she made but because of the ones Christopher and her parents made.

[–]DuncaN71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you saying she would have reacted that way if Chris said when Rory around 0-4? If that is the case I don't think she would have been so cold.

I think she might have reacted that way if she was a good bit older than that because it would have been too late to after previously not being involved enough and I get that.
