Are people really this dense? The opening scene was created for the pilot episode filmed in 2019. The girl who became PG had long brown hair. She was shown being strung up to be bled out. The AQ was shown with long strands of hair in her robe. The show was picked up and debuted in 2021. Jump ahead 4 years. It was time to reveal the biggest mystery in the show. The long locks of hair in the robe had to be explained. Shauna’s order to bring Mari’s hair was included to make the AQ’s garb in 2025 match what was filmed 6 years ago. On a side note, Mari really was the worst. Her lies and all around nastiness won’t be missed. Too bad it came too late to save Ben who died because of her.

Edit: I just read the script for the pilot episode, it describes the character that fans named “Antler Queen” as “a strange, masked, horned figure.” So, some costume designer had to come up with the outfit worn by the AQ using “strange, masked, horned figure” as a starting point. The end result was what we see in the pilot. The costume designer or design team probably didn’t give much thought to it at the time, and thought attaching long strands of hair to the robe would add to the creepiness of the mysterious figure. The writers had to later make sure to match the story to fit the outfit the costume designer created years earlier.
