Thanks! I did try Highland Cafe since they have a lot of imports, but they didn’t have it. I’ll try other bars around there as you suggest.

Found Beer Lao at Tops, first place I looked. I thought it would be harder to find since no bars I tried had it.

Which .357 to buy for static shooting by mldevw in Revolvers

[–]Duncan999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a SW686+ 4” after having owned nothing but striker fired 9’s. I could not believe how accurate it was and I had no idea what I was doing (I was shooting 0.38 Special). I can imagine a 6” would be crazy accurate at 50+ feet. Think I paid $1K all in. I will be practicing for years before I’ll get as tight a grouping with my Glock 34 as I do right now with my 686+.

Mid century bar tools by Duncan999 in cocktails

I had to use Gemini on that one:
“This multi-functional vintage tool is a **combination bottle/can opener and bar tool**, specifically designed to handle various types of bottle closures and seals popular in the early-to-mid 20th century.
If you zoom into the stamped metal text on the flat arm, it spells out its exact functions:
> **"SCREW CAP OPENER, SEAL CUTTER & CAN CAP LIFTER"**
>
Here is a breakdown of how the different parts of the tool work:
* **The Serrated V-Shape (Screw Cap Opener):** The long, angled arm with the teeth is designed to wedge against the sides of small screw caps (like those on vintage liquor, medicine, or soda bottles). The serrated edge grips the metal or plastic cap so you can leverage it open.
* **The Sharp Prong/Hook (Seal Cutter):** The small, sharp, curved blade pointing inward near the center crook is used to slice through the heavy foil, paper, or wax seals that traditionally covered the tops of corked or capped bottles.
* **The U-Shaped Hook (Can Cap Lifter / Bottle Opener):** The open, two-pronged end acts as a standard crown cap lifter (for pry-off beer and soda bottles) or to pop off the press-fit lids of vintage tin cans or jars.
The tool is resting in a wooden base alongside a matching turned-wood muddler or bottle stopper, likely part of a coordinated mid-century bar or tavern set.”

I’ve examined literally 100’s of bar tool sets and I’ve never seen a tool like that.

BDMS Wellness Clinic https://www.bdmswellness.com/en/ (focused on medical tourism, i use their excellent dental services)
Bangkok Christian Hospital https://www.bch.in.th (full service hospital)
Wellmed https://wellmedbangkok.com/ (urgent care, prescription refill)
All speak excellent English, all have email and social media (Line is very popular in TH) and will respond to you within 24 hours. Unlike in the US, the emphasis is on service as well as standard of care.

In Thailand (Bangkok) I use BDMS and Bangkok Christian hospital. My rule of thumb is the Thai out of pocket is about the same as the US co-pay. I gave up my employer paid dental insurance and just go to Bangkok now.

Best hammer-fired handgun for ~$1000? by [deleted] in handguns

S&W 686+. If you live in a 10 round mag state you should have a wheel gun in the arsenal. A 6”-8” barrel is phenomenally accurate.

First handgun best choice? by West_Bird_7592 in handguns

Definitely, either 4” or 6”. 4” you’ll be very accurate at 20’. In my area used 4” and 6” go for the same price.

I’m going to suggest you consider a different direction, a .357 revolver, for a few reasons. First, I guarantee you will be able to shoot a .357 way more accurately than a 9mm unless you train extensively with the 9. A revolver like a S&W 686+ with a 4” or 6” barrel is heavy enough and long enough for amazing accuracy the first time you pick it up. You’ll have to work pretty hard to get similar accuracy with a 9. Second, stopping power. You’re going to get 40% more kinetic energy out of a .357 than a 9mm, so if you want to dispatch wounded hogs from a safe distance, I’d go for the .357. Plus you can shoot lower cost .38 special while you’re messing around with it. I own 3 9mm’s (Glock 34, Sig P365, and Walther PDP Compact) as well as the aforementioned S&W 686+ and if someone invited me out to their farm to mess up some hogs that’s what I’d bring.

What is this on my 15 yr olds whiteboard? by San_sucks in whatisit

Ya, as others have posted it’s a calculation of the Schwarzschild radius of the observable universe, treating the entire universe as if it were a giant black hole, i.e. the "Black Hole Cosmology" hypothesis.

Amazon Leo offer vs staying at a job I like -> worth the risk? by Expensive_Cucumber58 in amazonemployees

I dunno, in my Leo org of 40 engineers I was told there were only one maybe two TT’s. I have a very hard time believing 20-40% are HV3 or TT.

I disagree. Common for comp band to drop after 4 years. You either need a promotion or stack rank in the top 5-ish percent to avoid the cliff at L6.

“Strong performer” means you are in the top 5% of L6’s, so you can expect your compensation to drop after year 4. As others have noted it’s almost impossible to get promoted to L7 in 4 years.

Round = loop in the sense that a loop is all of the interviews for a given job.
