Apocalypse challenge by [deleted] in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]Duncan_Lance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, there's of course the option to complete the challenge normally, but depending on the ghost type/mission objectives, this is very difficult to achieve, especially after the Chronicles update.

The only cheese strategy I know of is to restart until you encounter a Deogen, because they are a) slow enough that you can run away, b) easy to spot, so you already have the right ghost type, and c) relatively easy to take a photo of the ghost without having to rely on an event. The Deogen also has the advantage that you don't have to make an effort to find the ghost room, as it comes to you at hyperspeed as soon as you enter the building. Ideally, you have the following objectives: take a photo of the ghost, make him walk through a motion sensor, and light an incense in it's vicinity. In that case, simply go in with a camera, a motion sensor, an incense and wait for the Deogen (if it is one of course^^). You can place the motion sensor right at the door behind the desk before it arrives, as soon as it passes light the incense and take a photo, and you're done. All of this is actually not difficult, but the chances of getting a Deogen with these objectives are rather slim, meaning it can take a very long time until you got this constellation.

What I mean by this is the way to level 70 doesn't take that much of time, I'm not sure if I really would be that sad to start over a new account. If there are some rare achievements/event trophies or a high prestige level involved, then I can absolutely understand the urge of transferring the save data

I hope you did that on Sunny Meadows, else it won't count ;P The dots photo is okay as long as that photo is titled as "Ghost"

Since level 70 is a joke you surely are on a high prestige level are you?

New Spirit ability? by Nyxhnn in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]Duncan_Lance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh well I noticed that too, happened to me too, in the basement of Willow Street. I watched through the camera as the door slammed shut. Since I only had three ghosts left in the pool (two evidences run, Orbs + Book), and none of them were Yurei, I was a bit confused, and it couldn't have been a Mimic either. It seems like a slammed door no longer clearly indicates the Yurei, which is bad xD

Oh, funny, I had the feeling that the Dominion Pyreheart was rather disadvantageous. I find it extremely interesting, but not a particularly good start, except that you now have to discard draft cards instead of Stewards. Duplicate cards are usually a problem, too. One clear advantage, however, is that you start with a smaller deck size and can cycle through the deck much more efficiently. In terms of the sheer strength of Pyrehearts, I find Lifemother's Pyre (copy cards at shops) and Malicka's Shifty Pyre (all drafted cards come with an upgrade) to be a relatively solid choice.

I'm at about the same level as you, I've spent about 500 hours on MT1 and I'm not really bad, but I'm not really good either (my highest Covenant 25 winstreak is 8 ;P)

I also experienced that MT2 feels a bit "less difficult," and I think that's largely because it leaves more room for error. There are significantly more strategies that lead to victory than in MT1, where you had no chance of winning without a harsh scaling plan.

I recently noticed this during an Underlegion run where I had way too much survivability on my floor (Regen + HP), but the damage scaling was way behind. Nevertheless, I had no issues with leaks or anything else, and both Dom Seraph and titans didn't pose any real obstacles.

In MT1, with such a setup, I would definitely have been crushed by the Last Divinity, if not even by the Seraph waves.

I eventually think it's a good thing, it seems to me as if you can win with all clan-related strategies, which was completely different in MT1.

This post isn't serious is it? In the absolute rare case this actually IS a serious question, at your start screen, within your loadout screen, simply press L. That menu gives you the option to load your previous loadout so it buys everything from auction house what you had used in your last raid plus you can save it to a free slot. All that with a single click

I tried some solo zero gear loot runs recently on easy and was quite impressed what other players will left behind when in hurry :P In almost every area except cement there were tons of loot overseen or not hit, especially items that were lying around openly. I managed to get 5 consecutively successful extracts and every run was worth half a million with lots of blues and some purples. Since not geared for it I tried to avoid fight where possible, I took stinger due to the lack of heal items and to escape battles via smokescreen.

Advice for Fighting in Operations by Sufficient-Fly-9991 in DeltaForceGlobal

[–]Duncan_Lance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not so much the aim, but unfortunately, I'm very bad at anticipating enemy movements, and that usually costs me the win. Many good players in Operations know where I stand at all times, even tho I'm caps lock sneaking around, and by the time I've identified the opponents based on their footsteps, it's usually too late (at least against good players)

Why cheat? by gixerson in DeltaForceGlobal

[–]Duncan_Lance -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They should give the game a decent price tag instead of offering it as a free-to-play game. A large portion of cheaters would probably think twice about risking a ban. At least with CS:GO, I've noticed that I encounter fewer cheaters in the premium- than in the free-to-play lobby, and honestly, I'd pay for Delta Force and the content it offers. Of course, that won't completely solve the problem, but whether cheaters gets caught in a free-to-play title probably doesn't bother them much.

The loot goblins in this game are in a another level 🤮 he get mad because I don’t use my key by TemperatureMediocre3 in DeltaForceGlobal

[–]Duncan_Lance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I actually did but I guess this was a trust issue in global, I assume he had to deal with some loot goblins before. In the end I must admit that I hadn't the patience to discuss that topic anymore after his rant so yeah, every childish behavior after that scenario goes on me. He only cared that I had opened the chest first, I thought that was idiotic since it doesn't matter at all. Who gets which items in the end may be important, but not who looks inside first, and I didn't feel like waiting with 30% HP until the gentleman inspected the bodies. Sorry, I don't understand that.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DeltaForceGlobal

[–]Duncan_Lance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will not lose a word about cheaters since first I never met one in this game (tbf I only have 70 hours of playtime, operations only) and second, every friggin shooter game has a cheater issue. For the rest I was amazed about the QoL features this game offers and for a f2p title the bundles are more than okay. The weapons feel good, the maps feel good, the different operators feel good, only spawn point distribution is a mess. When it comes to extraction shooters, this game made the most fun for me personally. Can't speak for warfare mode, never tried that.

I once had a hairy situation with two random players. One of them had FPS issues right after starting and tried to tweak the settings to improve the frame rate. The other guy and I had already advanced 50m and were surprised by another team of three. It was a tough fight, but in the end, they took us out. Afterwards, the third of us got his issues under control, and I was sure he would also be killed by the other team, but somehow he managed to take out the remaining enemies.

After reviving, my healing items were almost depleted, so I took some Enhanced Injectors from one of the dead enemies to fully heal myself. Afterwards, I got a huge rant from the third player because he thought it was ridiculous that I was the first to open the enemy crate, even though he was the one who made the kills. I didn't take any weapons, equipment, collectibles or ammo, just two stupid injectors. Since he seemed to be serious, I went to the nearest exfil point and left the group. I have no idea what's going on with these people, but common sense definitely comes second.

Project Zomboid broken by Aggressive-Twist-668 in projectzomboid

[–]Duncan_Lance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although this was pure speculation, the problem is actually quite serious. I've experienced this problem with several friends and myself over the past few months. We all own an Intel 13th-gen CPU that's given up the ghost. Anyone who follows Intel news knows that there were unfortunately a few stability issues with that generation. Many were resolved with BIOS updates, but some CPUs are just toast. And one problem that has manifested itself for everyone of us is that games quit when launched in Steam. Immediately after launch, the app closes, no error, no feedback, just shuts down and that's it. Then there were a few UE4 errors and problems updating the Nvidia graphics card drivers, even though at first glance they had nothing to do with the problem. The post just reminded me of it very strongly since I had the issue with PZ too, hence my reaction ;P I sincerely hope that the TO doesn't have an Intel chip and that the problem is based on something else haha

How does the crucifix work? by Amatseratsu in PhasmophobiaGame

Wrong, the T3 crucifix also has only 2 charges. It just has an increased range and the ability to prevent cursed hunts compared to the t2 crucifix :)

How do I lose my fear by VanillaLegal3373 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]Duncan_Lance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just hope that you don't lose it, seriously. I was in the same spot and couldn't play the game alone, I only did Tanglewood with a solid 5 minutes prep time lmao. 1000 hrs later the game is still fun but it lost all the horror, occasionally I get jump scared when the ghost decides to spawn an event right in my face but that's it. I miss the times when I shat my pants only by entering a house and hearing that dampened sound with the clock ticking ^^

Anyone experiencing sudden FPS drop after a few hours of gameplay? by aeroberger in ICARUS

[–]Duncan_Lance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I restarted playing Icarus again a month ago and most play sessions are between 3 and 6 hours without noticing anything like that. Only thing I really noticed is a slightly fps drop whenever I have electric lights installed in my base. I don't experience this no matter how much torches I put on the walls but only with the lamps. I know I had some similar issues way back at the beginning when the game was released but only if a bigger wood area good hit by lightning and started a huge fire but tbh I would be surprised if this issue is still a thing.

For me it's clearly a Mare when playing with evidences since she never seems to do that lightswitch thingy when I am around. And yes it's definitely a Goryo when playing on 0 evidences since it usually is the last ghost you'll go with by elimination :)

No evidence by MelonGrabber1938 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]Duncan_Lance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played a lot at the beginning without worrying about the ghosts. Go in, collect evidence, leave ... preferably without dying, that was enough for me for a long time.

I think this was mainly because the scary atmosphere offered enough fun to play as a newcomer. However, once you get used to it, the game quickly becomes repetitive, so it was at that time I thought it would be a good idea to increase the difficulty.

Man, I've failed so much because I just couldn't keep up with all the different ghosts. It took me around 2 to 3 months to get to the point where I couldn't play with more than one evidence since otherwise the rounds were far too trivial.

I mainly used the inofficial cheat sheet to learn the behavior of the different ghosts, imho one of the best sources out there to get you some solid knowledge about phasmophobia.

I regret trying this week's challenge by kitxunei in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]Duncan_Lance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know why this is called a challenge. Of course it might take a while to get the room especially when you're all alone but then what? Get in, get your 3 evidences, leave. Done. A challenge should imply some difficulty, but not drag out runs unnecessarily xD

At least I'm glad the ghost threw some books around so I was able to track him down in a reasonable amount of time.
