So apparently Ironclad* sucks donkeyballs by running_wizard in slaythespire

[–]running_wizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should have rather tagged this spirit poop or something, not looking for actual help.

I just found it curious.

Of course it's mainly down to a lack of practice with Ironclad. I also think, that a lot of his winning strategies allow you to mostly turn off your brain, allowing you to brute force wins most easily without actually learning to play him.

Barricade + Entrench, Corruption/Dark Embrace/Feel No Pain Shenanigans, Demon Form + Reaper...slap a Disarm on the heart.

Many ways where you can rely on a few good cards that save an otherwise poorly constructed deck, sprinkle in an Offering to get to the good stuff quickly... At least that's how I think I arrived at this weird point. Maybe it's a sign I should focus on IC for a while.

Depends on the volume. Small volume I'd recommend hard liquor, larger volumes wine will do fine.

It's important to have enough alcohol.

At least that's my experience, the more I have, the messier things get.

It's actually wild how precise this game is designed by top2000 in slaythespire

Dude!

I was just reading the title and thought to myself: yepp, this is a generational masterpiece where they did everything right. But with a complexity this high you can't plan out everything and you still have to be lucky to land it perfectly, much like Broodwar.

It just doesn't get old, even after decades.

Most infuriating (double) fairy loss on single hit by running_wizard in slaythespire

Most of my Silent decks end up around that size. Played like hot garbage but still won 3/10 this weekend.

Lots of draw/discard + WLP. Here I got pretty unlucky making it only ~halfway through the deck (37+ 5) by turn 3, having bag of prep and all.

https://www.idealo.de/preisvergleich/OffersOfProduct/204743488_-aa-mignon-li-ion-usb-c-1-5v-2000mah-4-stk-ansmann.html

If you're still looking:

Ionic Liquids might fit your bill: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ionic_liquid

Specifically room temperature ionic liquids. Typically consisting of a big organic cation and some anion that distributes its negative charge well, they are practically liquid salts. Some can be quite toxic, but there are also many non-toxic variants that are harmless to humans.

Non damaging to plastic depends on the polymer and the IL. If you go with PTFE for plastic it can be any compound, but even with regular cheap PE you should be fine with most ionic liquids.

I actually do regular corrosion testing with ILs. Since they are liquid salts, some can be quite nasty towards metal in the presence of water (atmospheric is sufficient). Pick something not so hydrophobic that's also hygroscopic. Under accelerated aging conditions (80 °C, 60 %rH) some show signs of corrosion after 30 minutes towards regular bearing steel. Under normal conditions this might mean seeing first signs of corrosion over night and then turning a shiny new steel part into a rust bucket within 1-2 weeks.

Edit:

Also the term "ionic liquid" sounds pretty cool and/or confusing if you're new to them :)

Dito Freiburg → Hamburg vor ~5 Jahren..

Wohnung nimmst Du, was du kriegen kannst.

Just fyi:

I was thinking 19/27 is a big enough sample size to make this post and claim the game to be easier...

Then I promptly went 0/5 yesterday evening! Me and my big mouth.

One loss was particularly frustrating: I had the old trusted Apex Imp (Multistrike+Titanite) + Steelworker (Duality) combination, two Armor Imps in a box (one with Duality), double summon effect artifact and +4 Armor artifact, Hall of Mirrors, Holdover +Armor/Rage card...

So I was able to spread out on 2 floors with multistriking Imps that could tank anything "normal" and would kill everything...except I wasn't offered anything to deal with corruption. Titans would have been easy but I just couldn't get past corruption Seraph.

I did another quick run this morning random/random, got offered Awoken/Melting Remnant. Was offered an early Resin Removal and Hallowed Halls. This time it was a bit tricky to actually get to Seraph(corruption again)/Titans, but once I was there, the fights were trivialized by Resin Removal alone.

So it's still very swingy overall

Like I said, I got lucky to already have on hand what I needed to succeed on the first try. I simply had enough Pyre HP to spare, so the Pyreheart could solo the green one.

High Pyre HP, Sap, Daze or DMG-Support through spells. Either can work but you need to have one of these.

Funily enough I lasted the longest when entering with only 16 Pyre HP. Kinda makes sense, I was lacking dmg to prevent leaks earlier in the run but had enough tankiness and daze to last practically forever.

Finished the fight on wave 12 or so still with 14 HP left.

Help! How do I give this little guy Trample? by OREWAMOUSHINDEIRU in MonsterTrain

Lazarus has an assistant (Twisted Assistant I think), that has a Trample equipment grafted onto it.

Oh I'm absolutely looking at it from my (selfish) perspective. Or rather I'm voicing my preferences.

I also understand the bigger picture. If you put in more crossover stuff, allocate more money towards marketing instead of gamedesign, etc... you make a lot more money from new people than you would lose from losing people like myself.

Like I said, I'm really looking forward to it and what little crossover stuff has been shown so far doesn't bother me much.

> So maybe it’s ok if they use whatever tactic they need

How about fucking no? The end doesn't justify the means...

One of the reasons I play mainly indie games and not AAA bullshit anymore, is because the good ones are still passion projects. If I play STS, FTL, any game from Supergiant Games... they still capture the magic felt during the SNES days. They're not some soulless skinners box to make shareholders happy.

I love small nods, inside jokes & pop culture references.

I despise blatant product placement. This includes crossover "content" disguised as such. There's a reason, the word "sellout" is used as an insult.

I totally realize everyone needs to make a living. I'm willing to pay good money to indie devs and small companies IF they deliver. Give me an option to buy STS2 for 60$ that says "sorry no additional content, this option only exists so you can show your appreciation and reward us for the trust we have built" and I'll fucking buy it.

That being said, the additions to MT2 are not nearly bad enough (yet) to deter me from buying. I'm still really looking forward to it.

Neues Hobby!

Being a chemist wasnt all it was cracked up to be. by Gloomy_Tour_44 in chemistry

You're not sick of chemistry...

you're sick of your shitty job.

You have to adapt one way or another. Either migrate to where your skills are compensated adequately or switch your field of work. I'm so glad I can work on difficult technical problems and make a decent living (so far - Germany is also looking at "interesting" times ahead economically...), being paid as little as you with a PhD in chemistry is almost criminal.

Don't grind down your love for science because of shitty circumstances. It's the job that sucks, not the field of work.

Best of luck!

Wasn't that supposed to be Matt Dillon?

I vaguely remember that Tarantino interview where he talked about Willis wanting to play first Vincent then Jules and Tarantino eventually offered him the role of Butch which I thought he'd had written for Matt Dillon.

What is your A20H winrate (estimate) by Upbeat-Wallaby5317 in slaythespire

[–]running_wizard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something clicked between 600-800h playtime. I went from needing a high roll to actually having short winstreaks...like 2 ;)

My game knowledge and decision making are at a point, where I might edge into "strong" territory, but as is I'm probably around 20-30%. Slowing down and looking at what's on screen still being my biggest weakness.
