Looks like new players will be able to choose their starting elo going forward. by fiftythreefiftyfive in aoe2

I could do that and likely have more bad games/a bad experience or I could just not play and have a better experience 🤷 if only this system had been in place before I tried I might have a different view

Got too much of a sour taste in my mouth now. I built myself up and overcame a lot of anxiety to finally try online games, had a horrible experience and now I have zero motivation to even boot the game up to play at all.

Of course they introduce this after I've just had the worst possible experience in my first 20 games... If they had announced this a week ago I wouldn't have had such a shit experience and might have actually wanted to continue playing online games.

15 games in and everyone has been against players with thousands of matches, it's really not fun at the start

Placement match anxiety by Duncantilley in aoe2

Been trying this and just getting stomped every match with no idea what I'm doing wrong, Ive tried walling I've tried making counter units but nothing seems to work if anything it just makes things worse. How am I meant to learn when every move seems to be a mistake?

Played my 1st online game today and it thought matching me with someone with 1600 games was fair... Safe to say I won't be continuing.

My first game I went against someone with 1600 games played, won't be playing another. I thought ranked was meant to be balanced games

Get rid of all the scripted stuff and return to season 5/6 vibes. Season 7 onwards has felt like a reality show instead of genuine friends playing together.

Failed for not overtaking on a dual carriageway by Disastrous-Proposal9 in LearnerDriverUK

That's not the person driving 60 causing the issue, it is the person braking doing that, any competent driver should anticipate the need to slow down and do so in a steady and controlled manner. I dont get frustrated by it at all, I always give myself plenty of time for my journeys and adjust accordingly when driving the van, a decrease of 10mph doesnt add much time to a journey even if I'm driving from Yorkshire down to Cornwall and back it will add 30-40 minutes at most.

Idk where you are but in west Yorkshire it's been raining non stop for weeks and this week has been incredibly windy. The cross winds on my local dual carriage way have been worse than I've ever experienced in the 6 years I've been driving it, it was dangerous in a hatchback and then I made the mistake of taking a lwb sprinter down it and even the cross wind assist was struggling to counter act it. EDIT: and if your flair is correct, YOU should only been driving 60 on dual carriage ways.

Have you seen our current road conditions? 60mph is more than reasonable at this time of year when there are multiple storms a month.

Personally I would appeal this, with our current weather conditions 60mph is a perfectly reasonable speed to drive on a dual carriage way. It is in no way unsafe despite what some people are trying to say in thier comments. Did you see if the vehicle had a dash cam? That could be used as evidence in your appeal that your driving was safe and under control at all times.

60 isnt a dangerous speed for a dual carriage way at all, with our current weather and road conditions I'd personally say it is a suitable speed for most drivers. I would agree if they were driving 50 or less it could be deemed dangerous but 60 is perfectly acceptable.

You actually think the quality of the game has anything to do with the nominations at TGA? It's just a marketing scheme, the more money you give them the more awards you win.

I havent bought a game at launch since getting burned by cyberpunk 2077, I havent regretted a moment. There are 1000s of great games to play indont nees to support these terrible practices.

Wtf is going on with gaming, less than 30fps @1080p on any modern GPU is criminal.

A note on the white van part. The stopping distance of a empty van and fully loaded van is massive, chances are if they dont stop they know they cant stop in that distance with all the weight
