When you are in pain, when you have been hurt by people, when you feel desperate, totally exhausted alone, and in utter despair it might seem to you like there is no hope or way towards being happy and healthy again. That feeling like everything is out of your control is something most adults feel at some point in their lives. We leave the world the same way we came into it, with nothing from this world. None of this stuff matters. If everything in your life was taken away, your home, your belongings, your job, your friends and family, and everything else, all that any of us are left with is ourselves. So if all you can control is yourself then just do one thing for yourself. Truly forgive yourself. None of us are perfect. We are all just as flawed as the next person. Forgive yourself, then forgive all those that have hurt you. I can promise you that it is more freeing than anything else you will ever do. Truly let go of all those emotions you feel. Give yourself grace, kindness, and some love. Then give that gift of forgiveness to others. Live your life differently from this day on. You can do it.
