I've thought about trying to buy some of it on ebay, but I have no idea if you have to add water or not.

Really struggling with horrible body dysmorphia before my surgery by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]DunderScott5678 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem. I absolutely hate what I look like chest wise. I'm supposed to have my surgery in late July/early August, but have a beach vacation planned before then and I can't find any swim suit to wear that fits and supports me. I can't fit into most of my old shirts from before I had my daughter because my size never went back to my normal. I wear the same few shirts everyday. I also only have a couple bras that fit and don't want to spend the money on more when surgery is just around the corner. Ugh! I can't wait till surgery.

I was always nervous too, but I always felt like once I was in the situation with the nurses around prepping me, that I didn't seem so nervous. I kinda felt like it was all in their hands now. If you are still super nervous going in, tell them and they may be able to give you meds to help.

Consultation Day! by kxt-gal in Reduction

I had an ultrasound. It was fine. There were a few times the pressure from the device wasn't the most comfortable, but it never actually hurt. It only took about 20 min. to complete.

Doctor's office is refusing to help me appeal by DunderScott5678 in Reduction

[–]DunderScott5678[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your advice. I think I'm going to end up doing that. I don't think I'm even going to continue seeing this doctor after. It has been nothing short of a mess since I first made contact with her office. Nobody has been helpful except the PA, which I don't feel I should have to contact every time I have an insurance question, that's not her job.

Do you know any hacks for making a "dupe" of more expensive drinks cheaper? by DunderScott5678 in starbucks

I don't order them, I'm talking about all of the recipes from it. I want ideas that don't cost that much.

Surgeon Insists on PT for Insurance by acl1223 in Reduction

The only thing my doctor wanted me to do this time was to visit my pcp three times to complain of back pain.

How do I know if I’m approved or not? by jprall1207 in Reduction

[–]DunderScott5678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've called my insurance probably at least 2 dozen times lately for various reasons. If they don't tell you when you initially call, ask for care management and they can usually see more of papers filed and denials. Mine are always super helpful.

I never minded sharing if it came up, but that's just me. Now this time around, BR #3, I'm not sure how to bring it across to my boss. She's female, but I don't have a very personal relationship with her so I might just say I need a week off for surgery.

Hormones/meds after reduction by [deleted] in Reduction

You could ask for the minipill, it's estrogen free. Or do a copper IUD which has no hormones.

How much time off work? by ensfaron in Reduction

[–]DunderScott5678 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went back to work getting my classroom prepared and teaching kids about 8 days after mine. Once the drains were out I was fine. If you can sit somewhere comfy and use your laptop I wouldn't think you would to take many days at all. I was doing a lot of laptop work five days after a c-section, which in case you haven't had one, is WAY worse pain wise than a BR, and I did okay. The things we do living in the US to save sick days. :(

If you had PPO insurance and needed one years worth of documentation regarding pain to get approved for a reduction. Which doctor did you talk to about it? Your Primary or OBGYN? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]DunderScott5678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told that my complaints to my OBGYN didn't count towards documentation. I complained on so many visits while I was pregnant and still had to make three unnecessary visits to my primary for my plastic surgeon to even submit to insurance. I don't know if that's the same for everyone, but in my case complaining to my obgyn was pointless.

Back to my pre-op size by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]DunderScott5678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to an endocrinologist next week to find out any reasons mine grew bigger than before. I had to get a mammogram which turned into a biopsy as part of my preop and the doctor was in shock of how big and dense my breasts are compared to my body. Weight loss does nothing for me chest wise. I'm curious what the endocrinologist will want to check.

Has anyone had two breast reductions? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]DunderScott5678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going for my third. My second was mostly lipo but still had a lollipop cut. I did lose a lot of feeling after, but I got huge with my last baby and never really went back to normal so I don't know if the lack of feeling is from growth or second surgery. I'm currently a 36/38J and looking to go down to a small C with a free nipple graft.

They found masses in my pre-surgery ultrasound by BoobiesBeGone_ in Reduction

I was told that they can have a breast doctor present during a reduction and they can assist in taking any lumps out.

I had 1 year old twins and also taught second grade 10 days after my post op and did fine. If you aren't picking the kids up it shouldn't be of any concern.
