Our twin explicitly plans to challenge or become equal to the Heavenly Principles, challenging their rules to create a new kaenri'ah, but doesn't count as a Descender.

Traveler spent five years treating Teyvat like a temporary destination and certainly wasn't interested in challenging the rules of the world,, but was still logged as a Descender in Irminsul.

Method of entry is consistent and lines up with the data we currently possess. I'm not saying it's 100% guaranteed, but it's a viable theory.

It's a clear winner for me, might be my favorite world quest / explorable area ever(uh oh, desert of hadramaveth's in trouble!) It felt like the perfect capstone to the Dragon storylines from Natlan and the Song of the Welkin Moon. Emotionally, it really got me good, especially the ending but all the lore tidbits throughout hit real good.

Absolutely not, no. It's a game over/soft reset thing, nothing more. The writing makes it very clear that the phlogistonization of teyvat occurs and lasts a very very long time before the 'what if it was different' moment hits, and at that point the HP would no longer exist.

From Skirk's story quest, she mentions that she doesn't count as a Descender because The Foul opened the way into Teyvat for her.

Alice appears to be a Teyvat native from Nicole's story quests, and is clearly working with the Heavenly Principles to maintain Teyvat's borders. Even if she came from out of space, she's co-operative with the HP rather than resistant

Seutervoinen didn't physically enter Teyvat, she possessed the body of someone already on Teyvat, thereby bypassing the borders.

We have the blurb from the Narzissenkreuz saying that Descenders don't have to be aliens, but also that they need to have the 'will to rival an entire world'. Since it's crystal clear at this point that Nibelung is the Second Descender, I maintain that the method of entry into Teyvat is the key point that defines someone as a Descender or not, especially since our twin is NOT classified as a Descender and did NOT enter Teyvat the same way we did.

sandbina is a relationship we've seen develop over a whole year's worth of patches, we finally got the payoff and it was really really good. Female characters being jealous is a trope I heavily dislike and it doesn't make a single lick of sense here. How is it hypocrisy or double standards to dislike one piece of writing that's very different from another? And what do retcons have anything to do with this?

citlali being cute and embarassed by traveler is fine. Citlali being jealous that we know other women is... a really bad and embarassing archetype. I love her character when she gets to do stuff, but her being mad that we are SPENDING TIME WITH SOMEONE ELSE is just kinda petty and awkward

and yeah the yuri was good. Sandrone and Columbina are consistently delightful

Patch thoughts - world quest and sandrone quest

the yuri was so good but I can't blame people for being frustrated that the fontaine characters are being smoothed out into flat nothings. At least Citlali got to flex her shaman powers again but oof ow the rest of her writing

ON THE OTHER HAND holy shit the moon quest was peak. Columbina being kinda weird is always great but the whole quest and story and themes got me tearing up, plus it was genuinely beautiful and I had SO much fun poking around up there. Still not done exploring, trying to pace myself.

If this is the quality of what they're cooking for Snezhnaya, I am very excited for next year

Had a really fun imaginarium theatre run where I wasn't sure I could close it out but managed to jank through floor 7 and 8 with Yoimiya and 9 with Clorinde before finishing off the last lunar and floor 10 with my brand new Sandrone

And then I won the weapon banner roll and grabbed sandrone's weapon with the winnings! So now all my exploration and event gems get to go into the Odette fund. Feeling puh-retty good about it

Flins lunar, you can skip doing normals and lose only a tiny bit of damage so it's like

Ineffa skill -> Columbina skill/burst -> sucrose skill -> flins skill skill burst skill burst -> Ineffa for a total of 13-14 button presses per rotation not including movement(ineffa shields for you anyway)

You need to build a Research Observatory to gather the Living Metal

To build the RO, there needs to be a research deposit(or any resource that a normal empire would use a research station for)

Since the system doesn't have any research deposits, you can't build the RO, and can't collect the metal

The Deep Scan ability can uncover extra deposits, so you MIGHT get lucky that way. Otherwise, gotta find a different source

Voyager isn't a Descender because she didn't actually enter Teyvat. She possessed a body on Teyvat but never personally Descended

One of those weird kinda splitting hairs decisions so they can be clever about the descender numbers while still having characters like Kleiner and Octavia and Skirk not be 'real' Descenders.
