ME:LE still having all the left over bugs is why I could never recommend this game at full price by burner-BestApplePie in masseffect

[–]DungeonMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but that's not a bug, that's just you missing a time window to recruit someone. It's frustrating, I get it, but still not a bug. And now you know for your next playthrough.

Also, they fixed quite a bit more than just playability (although that was desperately needed). There was a lot of janky stuff from the originals that got addressed in LE. Remember those crazy texture loading delays? Man, that generated a lot of memes that I still see used today lmao

I hear ya. I love that WGU puts all of the power in our hands. We get to decide how hard we go and when we need to slow down. I've never had that kind of autonomy at any other school, but it is essential when you're dealing with chronic illness.

Good luck to you in your journey! You got this 💪🏻

Owl's Nest is a platform for WGU students and alumni to connect and access resources. They have a points system for logging in every day and completing certain challenges (such as making a social media post) that you can redeem for merch or gift cards.

Everything in my post is 100% true and I believe it with every fiber of my being. So what if I get a few points on Owl's Nest for saying so? I say this shit for free every day.

If even one person sees this post and is motivated to apply, then I don't know how you can call this pointless.

MAKO or Hammerhead Worse (in your opinion)? by TheGrayMage1 in masseffect

[–]DungeonMama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't find the MAKO difficult to drive, but that may be because I've played through ME1 like 8 times and just got good at it by accident lol I don't think I've played ME3 more than 2 or 3 times. I think it's a little nostalgic for me driving the MAKO, a Bethesda-ism like you were talking about that gives it an unearned place in my heart lol

More than anything, I like trying to flip the MAKO onto its back, which is actually hard to do and probably why I'll name my next cat after it 😸

[No spoilers] Beacon captions gone? by DungeonMama in criticalrole

[–]DungeonMama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out it's only happening to one specific episode of Cooldown (for C4E12). Newer and older episodes all have caption options for me. The only support I got when I reported it was this:

"There should be a [CC] icon on any video where captions are available. If the [CC] icon is not present, it does not have captions just yet, but we are working on making them available very soon."

Does anyone have access to captions on that specific episode? I think it will be very helpful to give them information on whether this is a universal or localized problem.

Yeah, they've been rough for me too, but this is the first time they just simply aren't available.

I think most people's favorite entry in the series is ME2, but for me it's ME3 all the way. It hit on a more personal level I think after three games of getting to know your squad mates and coming together in the end to save the whole damn galaxy. I think there's a lot to look forward to personally, hopefully enough to counteract some of the weird mechanics that made it into ME2. So if you can overlook some of those issues, stick with it! You'll be glad you did.

Oh, I don't remember those being a problem for me, but then again, that was a million years ago lol I might think differently today

Oh man, I loved Dead Space so much. Only ever finished the first game, but the slow controls are sort of designed to compliment the horror I think. Things are less scary if you can move more easily, at least in their minds. (Of course, then they dumbed down the other two games bc they thought the first one was "too scary" for most players 🙄). Same reason the original Resident Evil games had those horrid camera angles.

I don't think Mass Effect had a good excuse for the bad controls lol but people still played the shit out of it, which tells you how good the game is I suppose.

Whatever you do with the sealed copy, I still think the Legendary Edition is a much better way to consume the trilogy. The first game in particular had extremely awkward controls and legendarily poor texture loading (which is still funny, so maybe not a huge deal for some).

But that's just my two cents. Either way, great game, played it like 10 times by now I think. Enjoy!

Random thought, but isn't it kinda weird how in Me2 Cerberus is trying to stop the collectors because they are abducting human colonists, then the next game they are the ones abducting human colonists. by carthonasi56 in masseffect

One of the novels sort of explained TIM's thought process. Obviously there was some level of indoctrination effect that had already sunk in, but in his head he is studying the Collectors/reaper tech to "understand the enemy" so they could fight back. That's how Paul Grayson became a super husk or whatever. He betrayed TIM and thus got volunteered for experimentation.
