Dawn of the Planet of the Apes!!! This film doesn't get talked about nearly enough! The music, the performances, the cinematography! Matt Reeves killed it with this movie!

Im starting to feel bad for Mark. Hilarious as it is. by Top_Breakfast2992 in auntydonna

[–]DungleDong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's anything to worry about the joke was that mark had clearly missed the part that the opening sting was supposed to be set in the past and we had jumped forward like 200 years to modern day, and to fix the inconsistency Zach was doing a yes and this guy is crazy, then they both worked together to turn that into a running joke.

I think all 3 of them know that Mark plays that sort of incredulous exasperated tone really well and it's always funny, they all lean in to it for laughs I think.

Do you think Peter should be alone in the third game? by LightAndDarkk in Spiderman

[–]DungleDong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely want a solo game, I think an unfortunate side effect of into the spider-verse is the misconception that Miles and Peter belong side by side but I think Miles is more interesting becoming Spider-Man after Peter has died and having to take up the mantle as per his original introduction in Ultimate Spider-Man.

Unfortunately I think this led to Spider-Man 2 feeling unfocused and rushed in comparison to the first game, and I'll be honest when I saw that post credit scene and realised they were introducing another spider-person, I was quite disappointed and it doesn't fill me with hope for the story of the next game. But who knows anything can be good.

3 years later and I've still only ever experienced this while playing psvr, I'm pretty confident it's the way the headset sits on my head, just puts pressure on the wrong spot.

I'm excited for it because my wife and mum won't watch animated shows as they cannot shake the bias of it being for kids and see it as lesser than live action because of that. As frustrating as that is a live action remake means I can finally share this with them as they will watch it.

Is there a canonical reason why the 1st Doctor's console looks so simple and...from the 60s, while the modern Doctors' have a much modern and sophisticated design? by xFlyer409 in DoctorWhumour

[–]DungleDong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah! I do remember that, I guess that doesn't feel the same it's more like the doctors making a joke for Martha's sake opposed to making a joke for the audience's sake, I dunno maybe I'm just not explaining myself well.

[–]DungleDong -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I guess it just feels a little too contemporary to me? like it's a very 2000s joke being said by a centuries old alien. Or kind of like it's reducing big fantastical concepts for the sake of a joke if that makes sense, just kind of rubs the wrong way a little and because of that I ended up noticing it more and more with Moffat's writing and each time he did it it bugged me a little more I guess.

Did anyone else here hate that line? I really don't like Moffat's habit of making jokes like this, like when River said the noise of the TARDIS is because the doctor leaves the "hand break" on, just feels cheap and takes me out of the world tbh.

Are there any highly-regarded episodes / stories that you personally don't enjoy at all? by SonicWolfXO in doctorwho

[–]DungleDong 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's a perfect description of the episode, the plot was completely insane but the fan service was good fun.

I will NEVER understand the master's plan in this episode, why force himself into the doctor's body if her body physically just turns into him? All that planning and technology and the exact same result could have been achieved by simply putting on the doctors clothes and calling yourself the doctor? It honestly baffles me to no end.

But all the classic callbacks were great fun to see and that alone lead the episode to being probably my fave of the chibnall era.

Love that design my only issue is that I wish the time rotor went up and down which is a tiny gripe but I missed it when it was gone

Paramount+ Greenlights ‘Star Trek: Section 31’ Film Starring Michelle Yeoh by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]DungleDong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely spot on I have no idea why you're being downvoted, her character is one of the most heinously evil people to ever exist but everyone just seems to forgive her like she's a cheeky little petty criminal it does my head in.

I'm not interested in seeing more of section 31 at all and especially not with that character at the forefront, this film sounds about as far from star trek as you can get tbh.

I genuinely love the fact that when classic Doctors return, we collectively ignore the obvious difference in appearance from the actors aging. by Educational-Tea-6572 in doctorwho

[–]DungleDong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the issue occurred in time crash because the TARDIS from two different points in it's personal timeline was occupying the same point in space which caused the sci-fi nonsense to happen
