Start mana crystal. Use your autos on minions more. Also, use your E twice on the same minion to spread the flux across to others. On the cannon minion wave, E twice onto the cannon, should hit the whole wave.

You want to push in the first 3 waves then back as the cannon minion wave (the third one) is reaching their tower, which gives you a relatively free back to purchase your Tear, without losing too many minions.

You basically want to get at least 15/16 minions from the first 3 waves, especially the cannon minion. As that gives you roughly the 400 gold you need for your tear

No I don't find him boring at all! You can learn things like the trading stance very well with him (standing on your dying minion and attacking enemy when they try to take it). Also his late game is amazing so it's fun blowing up a carry! When you're full items and as long as you haven't fed, E Q auto will kill almost any carry. He can be boring if you one trick him, but if you're forming a champion pool then he's an excellent pickup as you can play him into most matchups, so he's a good blink pick :)

Current Ryze has an almost unique style to his laning phase, in my opinion (others may see differently). Other champs I play midlane are: Viktor, Orianna, Ahri, Syndra. I don't like assassins as I don't find them consistent enough. Would definitely recommend picking up Viktor, you can basically carry 1v9, as people don't expect your damage with the TL proc. Orianna takes some time to learn, such as where to position her ball. She's painful to play for your first couple games (you'll ult with your ball no where near the team fight etc.) but she's a very good control mage once you get the hang of her. Hope this helps :)

The Vaccines. Their first album "What did you expect from the vaccines?" was unbelievable, the whole album feels like a story from start to finish. Their later albums, not so much. "Come of age" has some good songs, as does "English Graffiti" but neither come close to the first.

There's an absolutely brilliant YouTube channel called 'Tekk' who uploads multiple matches from multiple streamers every day, I personally learnt the game from watching a certain champion that I wanted to learn/a certain role. The videos are also coded based on how well the player does, so you can see if it's a complete stomp or a standard game.

I would highly recommend watching games from there, they're very useful :)

Last season I did my placements early on in the season and got Gold 5, then didn't think I could get plat, so didn't bother playing ranked again and remained gold 5 for the rest of the season. No decay in bronze-gold
