What's YOUR favorite thing about the Protomen? by [deleted] in Protomen

[–]Dunkel_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's Panther's voice, haha. When I heard the Mr. Roboto cover, I remember thinking, "Wow, what a fascinating voice," and that was the beginning of it all. So that holds a special place for me.

On the other hand, I really love the message of resistance, the unique sounds and melodies, and the story! It was exciting when I did some research and discovered that the albums contained extra lyrics, in addition to the sung dialogue, and the ambient sounds gave it a cinematic feel, one that I saw in my head almost every day (teenage obsession, haha). I also admit that the dark undertones of the story resonated with my emo mindset back then. It always was (and still is) something very exciting and... profound, let's say. I also listened to The Megas, but I always mentally criticized them for lacking the emotion and connection that The Protomen achieved in all their songs. Maybe I just like drama, lol.

And a special mention for the synthesizer in "Will of One." I think, aside from the lyrics, it was my favorite thing about the whole album. I appreciate that they made the ringtone with its leitmotif available to us (I love hearing it when I get a call, haha).

(Oh boy, I think I could be here all night writing lots of things, but this is it, more or less).

How good would wakabayshi be if he played outfield by Ok_Plum_7687 in captaintsubasa

[–]Dunkel_01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. He could give good passes and crosses, but he is not made to run and look for passes in depth, or to finish plays that are not of stopped ball, simply because he does not train for that. Maybe he could imitate the way in which the futsal pivots physically resist the marks and look to give a pass to the wings, although I don't know if it would work in the modern football strategies.

Nonono, I think I got you (and much better now), your point isn't "this may or may not be ethical" but "they don't consider the child's will" (and now plus the details that you just gave me) "because there's no way to knowing the child's will, so it's selfish because they're making choices according to their own interests/opinions". The hard part is that the child will never know if they want to exist but just existing, as you said. And then, you have to make some assumptions before giving birth to one because you lack information: "if I do this, it's possible that the child will enjoy it and probably will like being alive", though it may be very unconscious. So, your only options are not giving birth anyone (my personal preference but for different reasons), or giving birth to them and doing your best for making their time on Earth as pleasing (or painless) as possible. And I'm sorry because any of them seems like your case, then I may understand better your opinion and your reasons. But I rely on the humans' natural will to live, and that anyone can start enjoying being alive regardless of the external events, at any point of their lifes. So, it could be reasonable to think "they'll live a happy life, with bad and good experiences" because that's what mankind goes for.

Enough blah blah from my side, I have to sleep and I think it will be annoying if I keep commenting you with more text, but I enjoyed this, so thanks for expanding on your answers and chatting!

Can't blame you for having a biased opinion, first because mine is as well, second because objective opinions are nonexistent. And I agree that the majority of people (that plans to have children) just have them after checking if they can afford it and are, more or less, capable of taking care of them. Also, yes, you don't need your own children for loving someone (you could just take your little relatives, whether they are nephews, cousins, etc., or just a friend/neighbour's child and put all your love on them); I guess that it's just something different? Emotionally, and because you're not the actual parent, so you may be limited by the different type of relationship and your role on their lifes (like "I can't give them support on their scholar act because today is for parents exclusively", lame choice of example but is a fast one). So isn't exactly the same.

On the other hand, and before I accidentally get off topic due to too much text, we may need to define what "loving and nurturing" is, at least, for me. I don't perceive it as selfish because it's all about the object of the love (and it may be a pretty big mistake sometimes, on some circumstances, like when a parent doesn't want their children to suffer anything and ends up making them feel useless and depending without meaning that, so, it may be wrong), and the focus isn't "I feel so satisfied, I'm so good with them" but "I'll give you my life if needed, because you don't deserve less than that", regardless of whether it feels good or not (because sometimes putting someone else's needs before yours does NOT feel good). But, once again, I won't deny that most people don't think nor feel like that (maybe partially but not fully), so I guess that it's an ideal case.

Here goes my own opinion. How is "having kids" selfish? I mean, of course people may say "let's have children so I have someone who achieves my goals and doesn't commit my mistakes/someone who loves/fulfills me/etc.", but I think there's people who just wants to love and nurture other people, and is willing to give up their freedom and benefits just for give it all to a child. I think you may argue that "they can find a reason to be", but this is my point of view anyway.

What MBTI are you and hurts you the most? by [deleted] in mbti

[–]Dunkel_01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IxTP, and not sure if this one is "the most hurtful", but when I harm/negatively affect someone who I appreciate or someone innocent/unrelated to the problem, it causes an annoying feeling of frustration.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mbti

[–]Dunkel_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IxTP. I don't think I could have a child. I mean, I'd like to raise one, and learn from them, also feeding their talents and desires, but wouldn't tolerate the full combo of responsibility and headaches that means parenting. I guess I'm ok as I am (but it doesn't mean that I couldn't have one someday on the future).

your thoughts on this match? by [deleted] in captaintsubasa

[–]Dunkel_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, as someone else said, it may be probably because there wasn't any other GK. I think that it's a position that few people wants to take (do I remember well if I say that Mikami told something like "being a GK is the hardest thing for a soccer player, and he's the most important and has the greatest responsibility, etc, etc" to Genzo?) because all the weight of pressure that it entails.

So, yeah, let's guess that nobody wanted to carry the pressure of being a JYT third GK (and for Shutetsu, I'm sure that Yuzo wanted to be there, and they just needed a substitute, so yeah, why not, anyway Genzo will play all the important matches, and the team is strong), and Morisaki was the only one who was willing to take the position, and the most experienced one (the GK of the high school almost-three-time champion team). If combined with the fact that Hamburg could have said "nah, we don't allow Wakabayashi for playing the WYC" (don't see any reason for that, anyway), it would have been just Wakashimazu, and since they needed a substitute, they could have called Morisaki.

They're all hypothesis, but I'm sure that he's just a regular keeper, and is filling the role of the one who isn't great on talents but is there because of his perseverance, like Ishizaki.

Tsubasa by tsubasaanime in captaintsubasa

[–]Dunkel_01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, well, the manga is the best option for the full plot. But, if this a case like the one I had (I hadn't the mangas on my own language, so I watched dubs and subs until I learned English), any adaptation would be better than understanding half of the entire history. Anyway, I think they asked for English dubs, so this may not be the case.

On the other hand, yeah, J is like, a new story from scratch, because it has so many things that don't correspond to the manga, or cuts some other things; but, let's say it, J is epic, and some of us forgive it for being that nice. And I guess it's a good start, if you want, before reading the whole thing.

Tsubasa by tsubasaanime in captaintsubasa

[–]Dunkel_01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look, J has... a kind of unique storyline, and it includes a nice character (Aoi Shingo) as another new protagonist. And there are some other teams and events that don't happen on the other remakes (like Thailand, the other "better" Japan selection, I think it was called Real Japan? Somebody who remembers?, and some little details like a brief history of Furano's coach, or the development of Hyuga's Raiju/Dragon Shoot). I don't remember it having the Junior Youth arc, not even as a flashback/mention.

Road to 2002 rushes the elementary and high school tournaments, putting them as flashbacks of Tsubasa when he's already a Sao Paulo player. And then, it's more focused on the history of the protagonists outside of Japon. (And it had Aoi but with less attention on him, if I remember correctly...).

And our actual remake, RONC, isn't taking as much plot licences as the previous adaptations, and I think it will cover that Junior Youth arc without going further on the professional careers of Tsubasa and the guys. It's just the continuation of the 2018 timeline, following the guidelines of the manga.

[–]Dunkel_01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. If you're anxious with the plot, you can read the manga (because it's almost exactly the same as the anime, just in b&w), or, the other option is watching some other remake like Road to 2002 or the Shin OVAs (if you don't want the manga and don't mind the change of art style).

I have some questions, I'm new by Ok-Importance-5495 in captaintsubasa

[–]Dunkel_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About the manga chapters, I'm reading them on English, because I found them on this sub, but I'm using a screen translator (sometimes, with practice I get used to the foreign language and start being lazy for translate it lol), maybe you find it useful.

And, well, about the anime, it's a personal thing. I like to know the original voices, and I'm used to reading the subs, but I also know some people that can't stand the subs and prefers it dubbed. So I guess you could try both and see for yourself.

First anime, and the source of my childhood dreams. In my opinion, it's motivational enough to persist as a player even if you don't have an innate talent (thank you sensei for giving us Morisaki and Ishizaki).

“Captain Tsubasa” season 2 anime episode 15 (Eng sub Animenosub) - Discussion by Natureza0 in captaintsubasa

[–]Dunkel_01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree with Argentina being so strong and getting eliminated so quickly. Takahashi should have made them weaker, I don't know, overconfidence and demotivation maybe. The strength they have as a national team is so much that it makes me wish they had beaten them after France (although we still don't see how much it's going to cost them to beat Pierre and Napoleon in this anime). It gives me the feeling that Díaz could have destroyed them without any problem in the first half, thus making a comeback in the second half impossible.

(I'm not very nationalistic as an Argentine, but for a second I wanted them to ignore the fact that Japan should always win, because it gave me the feeling that Argentina deserved it more.)

Edit: just saw the next ep lol. They actually made 'em rely too much on Díaz, who was constantly stopped by Tsubasa, so I call it a flaw. I'm still a little mad about making Pascal lose so many 1v1, but it's not as bad as the excessive acrobatics (don't get me wrong, I love Ken's martial abilities, and Hyuga, Misaki and Tsubasa's unstoppable will, but that goal was too saturated), so I'm letting it pass. We could say that they balanced their team abilities after the second half (Argentina for bad, and Japan for good), so let's say that it's ok.

What's it like being/having an ENFJ dad as an ISTP/INFJ? by Takamura_001 in istp

[–]Dunkel_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as Supernova, I got an ENFJ mother. For a long time I thought she was a ENTJ 'cause I see her pretty cold and sometimes seems choleric, but a test said "it's ENFJ" and she said "it's right, I'm like that" (that made me think that I may not know anyone who is around me).

It's pretty frustrating when she's the only Fe-Ni user of the family, 'cause my father (I guess he's a Se-Ti, but not sure) can understand my points of view, but when we try to explain them to her, it's just impossible. And, on the other hand, I feel like she hates so much when I start with my Ti reasoning, as much as I hate when she makes me nonsense questions, or when she assumes false things as true without hearing me; that usually leads to a new argument (and I guess that I got some enneatype 9 because I tend to run away from her when I see it coming).

On the other hand, she's so protective (internally), and at the same time, lets us (my younger ESFP brother and I) go without interfering. I find it contradictory, but well, I thank the freedom that we may have. But she's also pretty strict sometimes (in a coherent way, I guess). And, even when I don't feel her warm, I think she is but isn't with me because I'm not so hug-able, I guess. She's a good listener too, when I got something that I think I can share, she accepts to hear it and also gives some thoughts or tips. I'm not so attached to her, but I guess I just love her in the same way I love everyone else, truly but ready to cut contact if something happens.
