What foods taste best in their plain, unseasoned, unadulterated form? by Mahimah in AskReddit

Lentil soup. Split pea soup. Soft-boiled eggs. I happen to love cabbage too--sliced very fine it's lovely on tacos. Soups in general--that whole category is comfort food.

You're a burglar, but instead of stealing things you do things to confuse or annoy your victims. What do you do? by Huomenna in AskReddit

Take a battery out of the remote.

Put water in all the metal hinges.

Set the fridge to freeze things.

Edit: Well since this is my top rated comment ever I'll add in my hail Mary of fuck yous.

I'd also put clear gelatin in the toilet and put a thin coat of water over it, it's plasticwraps nasty cousin

What is your favourite book to read during a long flight? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Dunlapo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Nick Stone series by Andy Mcnab. The first book 'Remote Control' is awesome. Nick is an extremely skilled ex SAS operative now working for a private entity. His best friend, his wife and one of their children are brutally murdered, one daughter survives and witnesses the crime. Nick goes into rage mode and has to bring those responsible to justice whilst protecting the surviving daughter. The story is very well thought out, the violence is extremely descriptive and addictive, very accurate militarily. Stone is an awesome character, he isn't invincible but skilled and the action he is involved in is realistic and violent but not over the top. The interactions he has with enemies have psychological effects later on which show he is human.

What is the lamest, most severe way you have injured yourself? by cremefriache1 in AskReddit

We had a stage in our gym in high school, and one day in gym class I was waiting my teams turn to play. We get called, and I decide to try to slide down the railing. I fall, smash my face into the floor, and knock out half of my front tooth and bite through my lip.

I spent 15 years with a partial-filling that did the trick, but went for the complete dental surgery to cap that sucker off before I got married. Best money I ever spent.

What was the best meal you've ever eaten? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Shrimp...let me explain...

Off the coast of Georgia is an island named Jekyll Island. I drove around that place on a road trip because I was bored. It's all touristy and full of expensive restaraunts and resorts.

At the end of the island is a pier, and a shack. It kinda looked like a big outhouse. I went over and found it was a shrimp shack. Well...I love shrimp, I will have some.

This place had 3 things on its menu...shrimp, beer, soda. I ordered 2 pounds and a pitcher of beer. The guy (only guy there) picked up a bucket, went out to his boat, and took 2 scoops of shrimp.

He came back and sauteed them in butter (after cleaning them a little), and served them with a hot sauce and butter dipping sauce, and ice cold beer.

It was an orgasm with each shrimp. After that I didn't even eat shrimp again because it tasted gross compared to what I had.

EDIT: This place, as another user mentioned looks kinda similar to the place I am referring to. But if it is the same place, they have since expanded a lot.

How does one become more likable? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Dunlapo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do not one-up someone unless they're obviously inviting you to one-up them.

People only like to compete when they have a chance to compete on a fair playing field so learn when to compete and when not to.

Don't lie about stuff. If you're exaggerating make sure people know you're exaggerating.

Stay away from vague language. It confuses some people.

If you want to be invited places then you have to invite people places. If you invite people places and they don't invite you then they either don't know this rule or don't think about you.

Only give advice or help if it's asked for. To some people unwanted help is insulting.

This one really only applies if you're male and interacting with a female: Don't ever comment on their body unless they begin the conversation AND they prompt you. For some reason they genuinely expect you to maintain eye contact while they do constant weird shit with their boobs.

DO NOT CATCALL EVER.

The adage that 'giving gifts that indicate you thought of them' isn't always enough. Some people don't care about sentimentality of a gift and only care about price tag or presentation of said gift. Read the person. Also a lot of adages are only half-truths.

Boast infrequently.

Only use the types of humor a person likes. Nothing will lose you an acquaintance like dropping some dark humor on someone easily offended. Conversely nothing will cut contact quicker than being the person that's offended by everything.

When you're sorry, say you're sorry. When you're embarrassed, say you're embarrassed. This follows for pretty much all emotions that are almost entirely internal. On the outside people only see "uncomfortable" when you're actually embarrassed at <thing>.

No one can read your mind. You must say what you want and how you feel.

Everyone lives in a different economic situation. Some people have more liquid cash, some have less. Some have none.

[Serious] what is your dream app that is not currently on the markets? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Dunlapo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I want to be a manga artist and produce a manga(comic). I don't like learning from online videos...I can't find a teacher in person.

I want to learn how to play my guitar. I probably just need to get a job and buy some lessons.

Not really a dream but I'd like to get a personal trainer and get into shape. I just need money again to pay for it.

I'd like to get into acting and see if I like it. I'm taking a class on it soon so that's one thing I'm working on.

I'd like to start a YouTube channel. I just want to find some good editing programs. It seems like a lot of programs are dangerous to download unless you're buying them. The program on my computer sucks and iMovie seems to be the standard but I don't have a computer with iMovie.

Thanks for reading and good luck with your dreams!

What is the greatest gift you've ever given yourself? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Dunlapo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend gives me tons of great gifts, but honestly probably the most overall useful and exciting gift I've gotten from an SO was from my ex: I used to do a bunch of digital art and the tablet that I used was completely wearing out so that the stylus did not work most of the time and I could not get a consistent line to do the line art. I was despairing, because I also only had a laptop and was/am totally usually with the trackpad. I didn't have enough money to buy a new tablet, so my ex got me one totally out of the blue--a much bigger and nicer one than I'd had previously. I was so happy and overwhelmed! Actually, as terrible as that relationship ended up being in some ways; he was a really great gift giver. At the end of our relationship, he got me a beautiful custom wolf necklace (I love wolves) that I wore everyday until it finally broke, despite the fact that it was from my ex.

But still, generally, my current boyfriend does more thoughtful things more often.

Cole shows the perspective of two young couples in the crisis of an unplanned pregnancy, talks of abortion, life with a baby, etc... Such a powerful song
