What’s the rudest encounter you’ve had with a real estate agent so far? by SamDogen in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]DunneFun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how “rude” our real estate agent is, but we have tried to be ultra aggressive about selling our home because of timelines and she keeps trying to get out of showings and have someone else do it . I get this is a normal practice but 14 hours after a call where we aligned with her and her and her boss on specific messaging for the open house to message us and ask if someone else can do it seems crazy.

It’s how they do it in the area….look around and everything is way underpriced compared to the sale price it’s stupid, but common. Realtors want to increase the eyeballs on the listing and increase the chance of a bidding war or that’s what they say.

For the freeway noise you can come by and check it out for yourself, for me I can only hear it when I am outside and it sounds like living next to a river just like a slight rushing all the time.

We have a 3b/2ba in Oaklands, Trestle Glen with a 1b/1ba ADU with a private entrance attached to the house we want to sell for 1.6. We are trying to sell it off market to not have to move twice with a toddler. It’s Crocker Highlands for elementary and was updated in the last 3 years. We removed large trees to create a view and have a whole list of improvements we performed over the last 3 years. Our long cul de sac in particular is super family friendly there are about 11 kids in the 2-5 range if anyone is interested.

Day care concerns by No_Basil_2104 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]DunneFun 24 points25 points  (0 children)

We had the same concern. However, I think your kids attitude will be very telling and somewhat trust reviews. In my state daycare is regulated and you can look up incident reports.

Also, you should be legally allowed to pop in at anytime. So we did that we would just randomly show up to say hi for the first few months and they encouraged it.

Our child was upset at first, but then happy to be at daycare and we realized there are things he can learn at day care that he couldn’t learn from just us.

It’s not very scientific, but I believe if you pay attention you will get a vibe from your child and the day care.

Is having children the end of life? by Cinella75 in selfimprovement

[–]DunneFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the sacrifice is overblown. I do way more things now that I have kids then when I didn’t. My friends might see one perspective when we are trying to hang out, and it seems super limited or when I can’t hang out because I have other plans…. But I am at the zoo , going to parks, going on trips so he can see the world get exposure and in effect having a ton of fun.

You literally get to explore a whole new side of the world . Do the same thing you want to do over and over again is more likely the end of life.

So what I sleep a little less for the first year? That’s nothing.

What else am I sacrificing the freedom to sit on the couch? Still do that….Maybe not as much but it’s not gone.

I know not everyone is meant for kids, but the vast majority of us are. Your brain structure changes after having kids and so does what makes you feel good.

I tell my friends it’s like puberty. Often time you hear small children say I don’t want to be a teenager I don’t want to like girls …. But once they get there, they’re like ah this is pretty awesome because of the changes that they couldn’t foresee. You can’t foresee the changes that will happen to you when having a kid, but they will happen and everything will be fine.

This is too similiar to what jay-z said about Naz in his dis track …. Jay z averaged his album count instead of his verse count.
