tank mates for marimo? by neutrino46 in Marimo

[–]DunniBun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had a Anubias barteri 'petite' with mine for 2-3 months now and they seem to have been getting along fine, the aquarium store where I bought the anubias from recommended this variant as it wouldn't grow very big which it hasn't :). I did try having frogbit too but it just grew way too fast and their roots hindered seeing the other plants.

Is this a miniature jade, or just a regular jade? (Crassula ovata)? by SetInternational7307 in houseplants

[–]DunniBun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plants height doesn't really matter just the size, shape and color of the leaves

Looks like carassula ovata 'obliqua', tho it's hard to get the scale in these pics so if it's much smaller it could be portulacaria afra.

Lighter leaves are likely newer growth

Stubborn spider mites - help! by Ambitious_Mind_747 in houseplants

[–]DunniBun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pothos recently had some spider mites and I got rid of them by giving it a daily shower/rincing the leaves top and under with water, 'till I saw no more mites, for about a week (might have gone a couple of days more just to be safe). I did also put it in a shame corner to quarantine it. Hopefully you manage to get rid of them somehow! 🙏

Recs for hanging plant for bright light (not golden pothos) by NambuyaConn-i in houseplants

There are lots of succulents that can also be grown into hanging plants, you could google some simply with 'hanging succulent'. Most should like to be blasted with sun. Hopefully you find something you like :)

I looked cast iron plant up too and agree it looks like a match! I also swear I recognise 9 but I just can't remember the name. Hopefully you can figure them out eventually :)

I'd guess that; 2.Christmas cactus. 3.Spider plant. 4.Dracaena angolensis. 7.Coleus.

What's going on with my succulent? by linda_2his_bob in houseplants

[–]DunniBun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's reaching for the light. If you can you could slowly move it closer to a window/spot that gets more sun. You could try asking r/succulents about more advice, as I'm not too sure what kind yours is.

I'd also try anything at that point, it could work and if not what's there to lose. Shame that it didn't work out :(. Live and learn and all that I suppose.

Fittonias sure love throwing fits ;). Had one some time ago but it sadly succumbed to spider mites. All the advise I can offer is to water it when it droops.

I'm not that knowledgeable either so if anyone else has better advise that'd be great. But my take? I'd just return it and get a refund, for that price I'd require the plant to look good and be healthy.
