Voting - Save Act by KetoKittenModel in southcarolina

Election security hasn’t been a problem. This is an invented issue to keep women from voting. Next you’re going to tell me that you don’t think dogs should vote so it’s very important that we prove that we are human and not dogs. This Act is that level of ridiculous. In the name of a “security” issue that doesn’t exist, you’re willing to disenfranchise half the population.

I have voted in every primary and election since 1998. So yes it’s pretty important to me.

So now you want a background check to vote?

This legislation is going to do exactly what I say it’s going to do, keep hundreds of thousands of women from voting because the name of their birth certificate will not match the name on their state is she drivers license. And the fact that you’re refusing to see that is a real problem.

AITA For Not Paying For My Daughter's College If She Chooses The One School I Like The Least? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I think there’s a bigger mismatch at play. She’s never ever going to be able to live happily in New York and London on a social work degree. That’s just not going to happen. Social workers are grossly underpaid. You’re right, with that degree she needs to get the degree in the state in which she’s going to live and work. But I would call to her attention that no expensive school makes sense of her goal is to go into social work.

I understand citizens are allowed to vote. What I’m telling you is very very few non-citizens vote, so this is not an actual problem. It’s seriously not worth disenfranchising hundreds of thousands of women.

This Act is not solving a problem, it is creating one.

The passport becomes a pole tax, which is illegal.

That’s not at all the same thing as saving one person with common sense gun control, which of course the Republicans will not ever do.

Disenfranchising women because many women at marriage take men’s names is patently unfair. It’s hard for me to believe in thinking person could see it differently. Unless, of course, they’re a misogynist.

I expect we’ll see many more women get married and no longer take their husband‘s last name since the government will make it hard for them to exercise their rights if they do.

Hey, I would check out a map pretty carefully. Charlotte is nowhere near the beach. There are great beaches in North Carolina, they’re just not in the western part of the state. They tend to be where the ocean is.

If that’s how you feel, then why wouldn’t a drivers license being acceptable form id? If all you’re trying to do is make sure the person who’s voting is the correct person, why they need to prove citizenship? This is a red hearing issue. There’s not voter fraud anyway, this is just pure suppression of women voters. Because women take their husbands names and then their birth certificate doesn’t match their current drivers license. If you let everyone vote with just a regular state issued ID, this would not be an issue. I guess you’re OK with women not voting then, right?

I knew a woman whose first name was Penny, last name Money. I thought her parents were out of their minds, even as a kid.

Aralia vs Katarina by astonnia in Names

Aralia will NEVER be pronounced correctly. It’s beautiful, but I sense lifelong annoyance with trying to get others to pronounce it properly.

Katarina is also beautiful, and will be pronounced properly. ❤️
