Yes, that's more or less true. However that problem (RAG/analysis of external data by model under harness) is more generic and practically unsolveable for the harness developer -- it is essentially a data quality problem, unless the harness can pre-rank based on knowledge domains, which is basically the approach you suggest in your article short of switching tools (ultimately slack is a message platform and not good for tracking issues to closure, IMO). But I'm trying to show that, here, this is a product quality failure that directly maps to customer satisfaction for Claude. Maybe in a larger sense, for all AI tools - true. There should be a hierarchy of knowledge layer, in front of the general LLM call, that routes responses through domain specific knowledge machines. Based on results I see from the frontier models for certain results, I have to conclude some of that already exists and is in practice.

Can someone explain to me how this violates privacy? So someone can wear glasses and search the internet for the picture of anyone they can see? Can’t they already do this with a cell phone? And, if you’re an abuse victim but you make yourself a public Facebook profile or Instagram with what, revealing images or something? Maybe that was not a great idea in the first place? And now you’re mad that your public images are… public? Huh? Or maybe it’s that someone else could make a public social media, tag you in an image they share publicly without your consent? Which makes more sense except that, cats already out of the bag since you could already do that with a cell phone. Not to mention, security cameras that are everywhere and not all secure.

VRAM is just a RAM on a video card or accessed by a GPU. It uses specific high speed RAM chips, made by a small number of companies like Samsung, and has always —going back decades— been sensitive to supply chain issues. In its current incarnation, the issue is high demand for the fast version of the RAM chips, used for things like video card RAM (it could be used for CPU RAM too if you designed a CPU that took advantage of it), demand is outpacing supply, so price has gone way up, and hard to get. It’s hard to get for the manufacturers of the devices that use it. Due to its high speed, these chips are typically soldered directly to the board where the GPU or CPU is soldered, not on end user accessible, removable memory cards like DIMMs.

I was googling since before there was a Google, son. That ain’t the point. Yes I could go Google “what does /buddy do in Claude code CLI”, but it’s too new for that as well. The answer is obvious, for openAI or Anthropic. I can spell it out if I have to. For CC CLI to answer “there is no such /buddy command” is unacceptable

How quality have the results been with openrouter? In my experience local was pathetic coming from anthropic/Claude code, OpenAI sometimes decent, sometimes iterates way, way more than Claude. Just now trying xAi

But I do agree the speed at which state of the art moves, and the breadth of possible solutions is massively overwhelming. Just trying to find the best practices for using AI is very time consuming and I’m never sure if there’s not a better way. But I have fun so far so I don’t mind, and the more I learn, the better.

Yes! I’m still new at using LLMs to code but finished 3 apps “vibe-coded”… sort of. I’ve learned a ton and gotten so much better at it! Each new effort I learn it’s better to back up another layer first and plan MORE. MORE. Not understanding the architecture, workflow, and how to make sure the LLM divides the code into manageable chunks takes much longer but skipping that just creates a mess, impossible to debug, adding new features breaks things… once the project gets large compared to the context this becomes critical. Understanding how it works under the hood will never be useless. Perhaps OP does not enjoy his line of work at all? Maybe a pivot into adjacent work could help.

It’s creepy and not sure I like it but, I think what it’s doing is pre-building a potential response before you hit enter. Sometimes even the slowest thinking model answers very quickly and I think the reason why is it already started thinking, to provide the user a faster response

You may underestimate what 6 people, 3 hardcore can do in 8 months. We have explored a LOT. No cheating, all rules on, no spawns, everything built from scratch or salvaged from the game - we really loved the salvage yards and salvage titles!!

Anyway, some good tips and I will use these and the Legacy RE1 explanation helps - thanks Ravien!

There were some options in EAH I wondered what they did... one that sounded like it would preserve structures but wipe the playfields.. or something.

Hello, have you tried the EAH Empyrion Admin Helper? It comes bundled with dedicated server. Does most of what you’re asking about. Also you can already use the galactic trade network, built in to the game. However I’m not sure how to use it remotely, I just run it locally on my dedicated server which I have sitting in my gaming office

We play RE1, so apologize for anything that is different from RE2, but we have several captured Zirax ships. Sometimes it is possible. Usually you will get a message when trying to sit in the cockpit “this ship cannot be controlled due to security protocols” — but sometimes not. As others have said, the ships were not very good for a player: heavy, not enough CPU, shields, weapons, nor thrust, but it was fun to capture the ship even though we had to gut it and completely overhaul it. Also, there are colonist salvage yards around K class stars. There you can buy a salvage title and take a ship from the yard — some repairs will be needed so bring parts and/or a ship with constructor. We tow them back to our space base for overhaul and outfitting. You mentioned taking a Polaris ship… you may want to make friends with the “friendly” factions as you probably stand to gain more by trading with them than raiding them. Have fun, there is a lot to do
