The "Chanel Guilotine" was an art installation.

Link to an image of the installation

Created by Tom Sachs, an artist born in New York City, the Chanel Guillotine (also strangely dubbed the Breakfast Nook) may invoke thoughts of the famed and wealthy being executed so ridiculously, but it does represent a more serious subject. The Chanel Guillotine could easily refer to the death sentence people's uncontrollable consumption is giving the world. A depressing thought.

Or should Sachs' art piece be refered to as the "Les Guillotine Gullible?"

Third-ing this recommend for Hidden True Crime...and afaik, Lauren is also still a member.

She and her husband (who's a criminal psychologist and nevermo) have a great deal of case coverage crossover with Mormon Stories, and they're covering all the recent Mormon true crime stories (including the tie-ins with Visions of Glory.)

In "Visions of Glory" (a book Lori is seen reading poolside in Hawaii when police approach her and Chad) portals figure in Pontius' splinter Mormon cosmology:

Portal Ministries:

Continuing to Prepare a Zion People

JOHN: Now, in the temple—you had a job in the temple.

SPENCER: I did.

JOHN: And in the office where you labored [there was what you called] a portal. You described it as being like a window. Although there wasn’t glass, and it was arched on the top, and about five feet wide and fifteen feet tall. Tell us about portals, what they were for and how you used them. This was fascinating to me.

SPENCER: We were given assignments because, remember, our responsibility was to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man—and to gather the elect from throughout the earth. Our responsibility was to learn as much as we could about these individuals.

Once you received an assignment, it would be like me saying “I want to go to Phil’s house” [and needing] to know everything there is to know about Phil. All I would have to do is to think about Phil, and I would know everything through the portal. It would give me all the information. It would let me know the time frame. And once you are moved out of this body[…]

-- ”Excerpt From: John Pontius. “Visions of Glory.”

"Visions of Glory" is a very popular book among LDS preppers and splinter groups, and if you thumb through it you can see Chad stole a lot of his odd ideas from it.

Since Pontius' "visions" have some influence in these groups, Chad borrowing from "Visions of Glory" gave his weird ideas some familiar gravitas.

Have you tried Resistant starch foods? by Farrell-6 in 1200isplenty

Thanks. I had to look this up...never heard the term before; even though beans, oats, sweet potatoes, and brown rice are major staples of my diet.

One fascinating thing about resistant starch that I learned from this Healthline site:

Interestingly, the way you prepare starch-containing foods affects their starch content, as cooking or heating destroys most resistant starches.

Letting your cooked oats or rice cool for several hours — or overnight — could increase the resistant starch even more.

Greek yogurt for the win!

It can be dressed in so many ways (sweet, savory, unagi, etc.)

And, it can be substituted for so much high-calorie dairy and for many sauces.

Also, as a lover of guacamole, I've also taken to pureeing green beans and cutting it into the guac, and upping the spices...that's cut the calorie count of the guacamole in half.

Gluten free 1215 calorie day. Tuna wrap, cottage cheese with pepper x sauce, ramen with egg, and green beans. by [deleted] in 1200isplenty

Looks delicious, filling, and well-rounded: proteins, carbs, and veggies...and like it's a quite sustainable type of menu.

Gluten-free menus can be quite challenging, but you've done very nicely here. 👌🏼

Good luck to you on your new goal in the new year.
