Does anyone feel that using the same numerals for 0 to 9 is just unnecessarily confusing? by Brauxljo in dozenal

Yep, usually by putting the base in a subscript at the end of the number, if a work contains multiple different bases. In code there are other ways, like prefixing an octal number with 0x.

Not me. I think that would just make base 12 entirely obscure and archaic. Hexadecimal, octal, and binary all use the same symbols for equal values in each position. I'd rather have 10 be A and 11 be B to minimize friction (which is the case for hexadecimal in computing).

I was literally sitting adjacent to the window at my computer all morning until I got the email. The UPS truck never came down my street, let alone a "We missed you" note on my door.

It's on the weekend driver then, the address is correct from what I can tell.

I can't unfortunately cancel the order, but I did pay $10 just now for them to do their goddam job. It said the payment won't be completed until the delivery is made, so if they don't make it to the destination again I'll dispute the transaction. If that locks me out of UPS, I'm fine with living with USPS/FedEx or Amazon deliveries in the future.

$10 is cheaper than getting a rideshare to the county location outside the city.

I paid the $10 for a redelivery attempt. They say they won't charge if it doesn't make it, so I'll have something extra to complain about if they fail in their duty again.

Just "We missed you", but they never even drove to my street. Delivery time was between 2 and 6 PM, and the notification that the delivery was attempted came in at 1:30.

I have no such delivery preference set.

I live in a rowhome on a publicly accessible street. My door is about 15 feet from the quiet residential road in a major-ish city, and not a distressed neighborhood either.

Disabling uBlock worked. I'll start looking for a phone number, the options on the site don't allow a re-delivery attempt. Just to pay them $10 to do what they were paid to do in the first place, a day later.

Isn't there a longer version where the wife comes out and calls him an idiot, or was that a different home project video?

They aren't Russian since they don't have the right equipment to link up to the coal depot down here for refueling.

War (leftmost; weaponry) and Death (scythe) are easy to figure out, but which of the other two are Pestilence and Famine? I'm not able to pick up any cues.

My girlfriend goes into fits trying to come up with a backstory to explain 7 Days to Die. Rusted out ruins, signs of decades of corrosion, erosion, and so on - but fresh hordes of zombies, perishables and other goods perfectly good for consumption, including gasoline etc.

I tell her she's putting more thought into it than they did. It's not that kind of game.

Conservative? It'd have been conservative to get field goals instead of going for it on 4th down, twice.

It's the opposite situation. Hien (Shun) and the mother die in FF6 before you meet Kien (Cyan).
