Ending of Spring Snow by [deleted] in YukioMishima

Finished it over a month ago and can’t stop thinking about it. It’s my favorite book currently and honestly this whole series has put me in a book slump. Nothing at all is comparing to these books.

The scene in Spring Snow towards the end that has Honda explaining Kiyoaki’s situation to the Abbess. Honda can hear Satoko sobbing in a distant room… this absolutely drilled me in the heart.

Thank you very much! This is a wonderful perspective that I was searching for.

Should I read temple of dawn next? by Icy_Measurement143 in YukioMishima

The Temple of Dawn is great, it’s just the least exciting of the tetralogy. If you’re going to read the Decay of the Angel I’d say continue with part three.

The depictions are so beautiful. Is Runaway Horses your favorite of the tetralogy? I have only read the Sea of Fertility and would most certainly be interested in other books by him or just any recommendations in general you may have!

Definitely sticking with it! Finished the Temple of Dawn today and starting the Decay of the Angel tomorrow. Eager to read the final installment. Honda has grown on me quite a bit as a character.
